Before you read please note since I already wrote a battle against Kabu I'm not gonna do the full battle scenes, and now on with the chapter.
Milo's POV
I watched as (y/n) came out of the doors, she finished her battle but did she win? From what the announcer practically yelled in the microphone, it sounded like she was desperate to use Cherubi. I watched as everyone crowded my friend with questions, the normal, "If you want to know so bad, watch the replay." I heard her answer, which made them disperse and come back to wait for the replay.
"Hey Milo, when are you challenging?" (Y/n) asked as she sat next to me, a huge smile plastered on her face. "I'm still not sure if I should continue." I sighed out and looked to the floor, I felt a small hand on my shoulder and looked up. "I think you should, if I can do it so can you. Besides we agreed to travel together and I don't know what I'll do if I don't have my best friend." She stopped for a moment and let out a breath, "You can't lose hope in the beginning, Milo, or you'll never accomplish anything. You always had the dream of becoming Turffield's gym leader, how can you battle tons of challengers if you can't battle Kabu?" She held encouragement in each word, I smiled and nodded as we looked at the screen.
The replay began and answered all our questions, how can I beat Kabu? He's that difficult to defeat, (y/n) even had trouble, I looked at her fiddling with her badge ring and her words played in my mind. I looked at the doors and back to her, I'll win for you, (n/n), I watched as another trainer came out and walked to the instructor. "You ready to challenge the gym?" I hesitated and looked back to my friends who gave nods of encouragement. I looked back and nodded determinedly, "Follow me." Was all the instructor said and I walked through the doors to the challenge room.
Your POV
"I hope he doesn't let his nerves get to him." I muttered to myself, walking to where the rest of the heathens were talking. I took a quick glance at the doors and looked back to the group, he can do it.
"Great job, (y/n)!" Nessa congratulated me when I made my presence known by sitting down with a loud sigh. "I can't take all the credit, my pokemon helped me come up with the plan too." I was growing more annoyed with the excitement over me winning. "We thought you were losing pretty bad when we heard you brought out Cherubi and then let Vulpix take two G-Max hits from Centiskorch." I heard Raihan say pretty bored and not even bothering to look up from his phone, I didn't do anything that special! "I didn't do something like stopping The Darkest Day, so can we stop talking about me?" I looked away from the others, "Sounds like someone misses her boyfriend~" I heard the girl next to me whisper, obviously trying to get me flustered. The whisper was met with a death glare that screamed 'Say one more word and you are dead', Nessa smirked and looked back to the other idiots.
They took no notice, Piers and his observant emo self raised a brow at the scene. "So how do you guys feel about battling Kabu?" I broke the growing awkwardness that gripped the air, tired of my thoughts freely roaming everywhere. Everyone lit up at that, giving determined cheers of confidence and the emo version of that, great Now it isn't like we don't know each other.
( "I still don't think your plan would've worked." Kabu was bored and came to watch me write while his. ... Whatever he was cooking was boiling. "Kabu, let me remind you again, our reader had the advantage of knowing your pokemon and battle tactics so they were able to make a plan before hand." I repeated the 6 th time. )
We kept talking about random subjects after that, currently we were talking about how for Stow-on-Side and Chirchester we would have to battle two gym leaders to get the badge. Luckily we don't have to battle back to back, though if you don't know that it seems pretty challenging.
"This is a rare sight! Our challenger's Chewtle just evolved into a Drednaw!!" I heard the announcer, so that Chewtle was close to evolving. Well Kabu you're going to be in trouble. I smiled at the news. Afterwards, there was a loud rumbling that shook the ground indicating that the dynamaxing has started.
I kinda zoned out for the rest of the conversation, "Hey, (y/n), what do y-... (Y/n)? (Yyy/nnnn)." I saw a hand waving in my face, so like any normal person, I literally slapped the hand away. "OUCH!! Jeez, what was that for?!" Gordie's hand was the victim, it became a tint of red where I hit it away. "Oops, sorry bout that." I chuckled sheepishly and looked around, "Now what were you saying?" I questioned, wonder how long I zoned out for.
"Well I was gonna ask what you thought about Milo's battle. But since you were probably zoned out when it played, nevermind." Milo is back already ? I sighed, disappointed I didn't get to see how he did. "Speaking of Milo, where is he?" I still couldn't find him, did he leave without me!? .... No he wouldn't, he still won't let me travel alone, I freaked out mentally then calmed down. Just then, I felt something being placed on my head, the object instantly fell over my eyes and blocked my vision.
"Milo is right there." I heard Bea answer, "Well that's just dandy, if only I could see!" I responded with sarcasm dripping from my voice, I took off the object. And what do ya know! It's farmer boy's sun hat, "Wow, I thought I couldn't have Milo's hat. Well guess it's mine since he's not here." I saw the rest of my friends watching the scene play out, probably so they could make fun of or laugh at either of us.
(Gahh I feel like this is sooooooooo cringey!! I hope you guys don't mind this cringe fest. Oof sorry for interrupting I'll go now.)
"What!? I never said that, (n/n), can you give it back please?" I sighed and gave it back, " Ugh, fineeee."
After Nessa got done teasing me, without telling the whole world mind you, they told me how Milo did. This is just a shortened version of what they told me:
"Well in the replay, Milo sent out Zigzagoon first and defeated Ninetails,"
"Then Zigzagoon was knocked out by Arcanine and Milo sent out Gloom-" apparently Oddish evolved "- and poisoned Arcanine. Which Gloom fainted after two turns."
"He sent out Chewtle, who evolved after hitting Arcanine with Water Pulse.'
" And you know the rest, Drednaw defeated Centiskorch. "
That was an extremely shortened version, you get the gist.
"And you were questioning if you would continue, seems all you needed was encouragement." I nudged the boy with my elbow, " You said to not lose hope, I just thought of that when I was battling." Milo smiled nervously and looked like he wanted to say more, though he never did. "I knew you'd take that to heart!" I smiled.
Heeyyyy so, I am not proud of the writing I just created but, hey it's out. This will be the only actual chapter I am publishing until next week. WHy? Because the 'chapter ' before this(About Eevee) I am taking a pole for what Eevee should evolve into and in that post thingy only. I would really appreciate the input since I literally have no idea what eeveelution I should use. Well I guess that's all for now
