Milo's POV
I was talking to my friends and suddenly heard light snores, I looked down and saw the (e/c) girl was asleep in my arms. How can she be this cute, I smiled and looked back to the others, Bea wasn't here since she left to train.
"So why are you taking forever to challenge the gym, Gordie? We're going to Circhester after Ballonlea, it's going to be a long trip and we can't wait on you forever." Raihan asked the boy who was playing with Shuckle. "I don't like the cold, that's all...." Gordie let out a nervous laugh and looked back to Shuckle.
"But you said you live in Circhester. Wouldn't you be excited to get home?" Nessa pointed out, a prying tone in her voice. "Hehe, I did?" Gordie had a bunch of sweatdrops on his forehead and a nervous smile plastered on his face. This guy was scared of something, wonder what.
"Gordie, is there something wrong? Why are you all nervous?" I put in my question, which the silver and yellow haired boy jumped at the sound of my voice. "N-no r-r-reason!" He tripped over his own words. I sighed and shook my head a little, "If you say so, why don't we drop the subject and talk about something else."
"Sure, we probably weren't going to get anything out of Gordie. Besides, we never got to ask (y/n) how she did in the battle." Raihan agreed along with Nessa, Gordie let out an anime puff of air in relief. "How is (y/n) doing anyway, she's been really quiet the entire time."
I remembered that the said girl was asleep, I felt blood rush to my cheeks. "W-well you see..." I trailed off, gesturing to the figure on my lap. They gave a quiet 'oh' and Nessa suggested we wait for the replay, since hers was coming up as well. Phew, I thought they would get loud and wake her up.
We watched both replays and I was starstruck at the sheer power in Glaceon's G-Max Light Freeze, I stared wide eyed at the eeveelution next to me. "So the story was true." I murmured to Glaceon, her blue pools for eyes staring back and if you weren't careful you could get lost in those eyes. It reminded me of (y/n)'s eyes and in more ways than one, Glaceon was exactly like her from their personalities to even their facial expressions. Just thinking about all this made the rest of the world disappear, like a distant memory or a voice that said something but you just couldn't hear it.
Glaceon broke eye contact and placed her front paws on my leg, sniffing (y/n). That broke my thoughts, bringing reality back into the world like the channel on a TV was suddenly switched. I looked around, Gordie and Piers were missing so I guessed they went to challenge the gym. I challenged the fighting type gym while (n/n) was training, luckily I won though it was really close.
"What'd you think of the battles, Milo?" I heard Nessa ask me, I snapped my gaze to where the water lover was. "I have no words." I breathed out, this was the truth, I couldn't describe what I thought of the battles I saw on the screen with any words. "Okay... Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" She tilted her head and pressed on. "A great thing."
I heard a pokeball open, Zigzagoon again. I instantly guessed it was the zebra striped pokemon, as always it was. 'Goon!' The badger like pokemon sounded loudly, "Hey keep it down, buddy." I hushed and Zigzagoon nodded, walking over to Glaceon and talking to her. I continued talking to Nessa and Raihan, surprisingly they never said one word about the girl on my lap.
Time Skip
After about an hour, Bea came back and the two boys finished challenging the gym. I was going to challenge the ghost type gym but, I didn't because I wouldn't take the chance of moving (y/n) and wake her up. Piers suggested that I woke her up, I said I would if she doesn't get up soon.
"Hey," I gently shook (y/n)'s shoulder, "time to get up." I heard her grumble something and open her (e/c) eyes. "What's up?" She mumbled groggily looking up to meet my eyes, "Nothing, it was time for you to get up." I smiled softly, flattening down stray bits of her hair.
"Okay, is the fighting type gym free?" She pushed my hand away after a bit, I mentally frowned and was inwardly disappointed I couldn't keep playing with her hair. "It should be, are you sure you're good to go?" I asked, not wanting to let her battle if she still didn't feel good. "A little sleep was all I needed, I feel much better." She beamed at me and stood up, I was relieved at that.
I stood up along with her, Zigzagoon now on my broad shoulders. Glaceon did the same, positioning herself on (y/n)'s shoulder. "Hey Milo, thanks again for earlier." The short girl voiced looking up at me, "You don't need to thank me, I would have done it either way. Also, good luck on your gym battle." I smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"What would I do without you." She murmured and walked to the door.
