Your POV
We made it to Hammerlocke and holy Arceus this town was huge, well I guess I'm not walking around alone. "Let's check out the gym lobby!" I suggested and the newly evolved Glaceon agreed, Milo raised an eyebrow. "You said your fingers were numb from the snowstorm a moment ago."
I sweatdropped, "eh heh, it's a miracle!" I said awkwardly, the truth was my fingers still felt numb but I wasn't going to let that stop me. Milo folded his arms and gave a knowing look, "Sure it is, (y/n). Just like me not cooking anymore is a miracle." He knew exactly how to get me to tell the truth.
I gasped, "You wouldn't."
"Not until you stop saying you're fine."
"But, I am fine."
"Quoting you, I can see past your crap, (y/n)."
"Urgg, alright, I'm not fine."
He smiled, "Now c'mon we can check out the gym lobby later." I huffed and followed, why does he only do this around me? I thought, a look of passive aggressiveness etched into my face.
One annoying check up later
"Finally, that stupid check up thing is over. I'm free!!!" I screeched, my hands had a bandage wrap around them from frostbite. One of the downsides to being small, you get super cold really easily. "It wasn't that bad, (n/n)." Milo sighed, that's because you were the one who made me do it. "I only did it to save you from a ton of pain."
"And cause you tear yourself up inside when I'm in pain." I added on, "But then again I can't help but do the same for you." I smiled up at Milo, who flushed at the statement. "Y-yeah that t-too."
"Well anyways let's get to the gym." I cheered and attempted to grasp Milo's giant hand, but my bandages weren't having any of it. I huffed, "These stupid bandages, now I can't hold your hand." I muttered and puffed out my cheeks like a small child, I probably looked like one.
( "How cute she wants to hold his hand!!" Nessa screeches, "Finally some cute moments after all the sadness." " Nessa honestly without the sad moments (y/n) wouldn't be acting like that, I can't just go, "Hey I want to hold his hand!" Out of the blue. It's called character build up. ")
Milo smiled and clasped his hand over mine, keeping a firm grip. "There," my face heated a little and I looked up at my friend, "all you had to do was ask." I smiled back and did my best to make my tiny fingers grasp just one of his.
"Here we are, (y/n), I know you're excited but please don't rush off." Milo spoke up after the quiet walk to the gym, I nodded and stayed next to him. "I thought you would've ran off by now." He exclaimed and I shook my head, "Not today, I don't think I should." I responded with an uncharacteristic calmness. The young farmer just nodded and we walked in.
There was a big crowd, wonder what this is about. "All right all right, I would love to give more autographs." Now I knew why, chairman Rose was here. "Milo, can we check out the lobby later?" I asked quietly.
I never liked Rose, he gives off a terrible aura and I don't like the look in his eyes. The moment I saw him on TV, I hated him. One, who isn't bad with a haircut like that and two, you can hear it in the depths of his voice. Milo snapped me out of my thoughts, "Is something wrong?"
"No, I just thought we could come another time." I pushed the sound of nervousness to the back of my voice, "There's other places besides here to see." Milo nodded, but before we could even leave the gym,
"Are you two gym challengers? If you are I want to speak with you." I heard that voice, it always held the most subtle hint of aggression. I looked back to see the man with the terrible haircut himself, chairman Rose.
"Yes we are challengers, Mister Chairman." Milo answered politely, he gave me a sideways glance. "Hey we'll leave as soon as we can." My friend whispered quietly in my ear, it was as if he could feel the discomfort radiating from me.
"Are you two by any chance, (y/n) and Milo? I heard from Arin and Kabu that the trainers they endorsed were inseparable." Rose studied the two of us, I looked at Glaceon for comfort and the ice type eeveelution pressed her entire body against my neck and back. Milo nodded, "I bet they said that, probably that we seem like a couple too. I'm Milo and this is (y/n)."
Chairman Rose nodded with a smile, "Yep, word for word actually. How are you doing in the gym challenge?" The mint eyed man pressed on.
"Actually we need to get going, sorry we can't talk." The peach haired boy stopped the conversation and left with me following. "Maybe next time, I understand though." I heard the chairman call.
No I don't want there to be a next time, I thought and Milo stopped once we got far enough away from the stadium. "Hey what's wrong? You didn't want to leave until the chairman showed up out of the blue." He still held a reassuring grip on my small, bandaged hand, I mentally thanked him for that.
"I just don't like the guy, I get this bad feeling about him and I don't think it's wrong." I answered and we started walking again, "I don't know what it is about him, it feels as though he's planning something behind out backs." I continued.
"Maybe you're right, but we can't do anything about it since we don't actually know anything. For now, why don't we check out other places and head to Stow-on-Side." He smiled warmly, (Dang this warm smile of his is becoming famous) "While we're here, we could check out the battle café." My friend suggested.
"That sounds nice."
Not much in the chapter, but yeah Rose is now here. Hope you liked it,
