Third person
The sitting girl let out Togetic, "Hey you wanna try battling for real this time?" She asked the fairy type, who nodded happily and flew to get to position. Piers, on the other hand, had sent out a Scrafty first and was studying the interaction between (y/n) and her pokemon, giving the (h/c) haired girl the first move.
"Okay Togetic, use Fairy Wind." She commanded politely, not wanting to put pressure on her adopted 'kid'. Her choice of attack was met by the black and white haired boy's Scrafty using Brick Break, the fairy type easily flying away the dark/fighting type and attacking from above. "Now use Dazzling Gleam." The trainer sounded and the white fairy giggled happily, making well... A bunch of dazzling gleams and getting ready to send them at the red crested pokemon. "Scrafty use Sand Attack!" Piers commanded and sand was kicked up in a billowing cloud, lowering the ability of Togetic's vision quite drastically. "Its okay, Togetic, fly up out of the sand cloud and attack from above!" (Y/n) shouted and a pokemon bursted through, Togetic. The fairy type instantly found Piers' pokemon and shot her attack at the hoodlum pokemon, causing massive amounts of damage and the challenger was sure the Scrafty fainted. She was proven correct when Piers called the Scrafty back and pulled out another dusk ball.
"Okay come back Togetic, Lucario its your turn." (Y/n) smiled and let out the aura pokemon, who was met by a Skuntank and the matchup was perfect. Lucario looked back at Glaceon and smiled, then looked back ahead at the skunk pokemon and narrowed his eyes. "Lucario, use Aura Sphere!" The (e/c) eyed girl called and a blue light started forming in the masked pokemon's paws, Piers told the sickly purple and white pokemon to use Toxic. The Skuntank's attack had no effect(correct me if I'm wrong) and the aura pokemon shot his Aura Sphere at the skunk, making a direct hit and taking more than half of it's energy. "Okay now use Bone Rush!" The girl shouted and her pokemon pulled out a glowing bone, "Use Night Slash!" Piers commanded. The Skuntank rushed forward with outstretched claws and Lucario readied his bone, the slash was deflected by the bone and the skunk was thrown off in a dusty heap. 'Tank.' It grumbled before fainting.
"Alright Lucario, can you keep going?" (Y/n) asked, 'Cario!' He cheered and smiled at Glaceon who turned her head away in a very tsundere manner but, nonetheless her furry cheeks were tinted a rosy color.
"Okay Obbstagoon, your time to rock out!" Piers sent out the final form of Zigzagoon and Lucario stood firm in his position, "Alright use Bone Rush!" The girl ordered and the aura pokemon readied his bone once again, "Use Throat Chop!" The emo boy sounded. The Obbstagoon rushed forward and broke through Lucario's bone, the masked pokemon's paw grabbing his opponent's to protect his unguarded throat. "Push him back with Meteor Mash!" (Y/n) called and placed her hands on her knees, a determined gleam flaring in her shining (e/c) eyes. 'Lu.' Her pokemon built up a blue glow in his free paw, similar to Aura Sphere, and rammed the glowing paw into Obbstagoon's stomach, sending it back with a loud skid. "Now use Shadow Claw!" The black and white haired boy shouted. The bipedal badger rushed forward and slashed into the aura pokemon's side, causing little damage due to the type matchup. "Use Aura Sphere one last time!" The challenger yelled and the attack was made, sending Obbstagoon into the metal fence surrounding the battle pitch and taking the last of its energy.
"I'd expect nothing less from you, (y/n)." Piers gave a small smile and called his Obbstagoon back, walking towards his friend and helping her up.
"I did say it would be an honor to be the first person you present a badge to, Piers. I thought you did good for a gym battle but, I noticed you didn't send in your Malamar. Is something wrong with it?" She voiced her question and it was returned with a sigh, Lucario had finished boasting to Glaceon and replaced Piers as her support.
"The dummy got Marnie to give it a whole thing of treats and got a stomach ache right before you got here, yeah, it's mind control powers are still an issue. Anyways here, the dark type badge, I'll be rooting for you when you make it to Wyndon." He handed (y/n) a badge and ushered her to get going, her time to get to Hammerlocke and get the last badge was still limited.
"Alright Noivern, let's fly." (Y/n) gave the signal for the giant bat to take off and they began their flight to Hammerlocke, but decided to take it slower this time since it would be dark soon and the gym isn't open at night.
The pair had met a flying taxi on the way and found the driver was heading to Hammerlocke as well, so they struck conversation since neither one was in a rush. "So what's it like being a flying taxi driver?" The girl asked, she was now in a laying position on Noivern's back and was watching the stars.
"Quite nice, you get to meet tons of people and travel to the different towns. Plus, you get to fly a Corviknight and that's great." He answered happily and his raven like pokemon cawed in delight, "What about you, are you in the gym challenge?" He then questioned .
"Yep, actually I'm on my way to get the last badge now." She was then asked what being a trainer was like, "It's fun and I love all my pokemon to death, my partner is Glaceon and she's like a sister to me. All of my team is like family and I'm sure they feel the same." The stargazing girl smiled and sat up once Noivern notified her of the castle resembling town approaching.
"Sure is beautiful."
