Terrible Thing by AG
Do you ever have those moments in your life where everything happens in slow-motion? It's like in a movie before something really dramatic happens that makes you pay attention to detail.
This was one of those moments for me.
I stare straight ahead at Jack. His eyes widen and his head whips behind him. I watch as multiple men dressed in black head to toe burst into the club firing shots to literally anyone and everyone.
Bodies drop on the floor like flies.
I look down as this stinging pain brings me out of my head. I touch stomach as I see this bright red liquid leaking down my pale skin.
I look back up at Jack and swallow thickly.
He runs to me but it's all so slow. I clutch my stomach, I can feel my head getting woozy. I need to lie down.
Am I breathing right now?
Once he's in front of me he grabs my face and looks into my eyes. His mouth says something and for the life of me I can't identify what the fuck he's saying.
He grabs the gun out of my hand and shoots it in the distance behind him.
He yells at someone behind me and in a split second I'm scooped up into someone's arms. I stare up to see it's Frost. He carries me out to the back of the club and I stare behind him as Jack stays back.
My voice gets stuck in my throat as I try to scream at him to come with me. He shoots like there's no tomorrow, each bullet soaring through the air and not a single one missing its target.
The pain is what brings me back.
The liquid is still gushing out of me. I press on the wound. It's thicker I would've expected, much brighter too. I look up at the sky as the wind whips against my half naked body.
It's a beautiful night, the stars are out and that's a very rare occasion in Gotham. They litter the sky and twinkle in their spots.
What's that lullaby called? About the stars?
Goosebumps arise on my skin and I snuggle closer into Johnny.
I should've kept on the fur jacket.
Frost places me in the backseat of his car and he jumps into the drivers seat to pull out of the club parking lot.
The seats are uncomfortable but I honestly can't move fro the life of me. The seatbelt is digging into my back making this a very uncomfortable ride.
I swallow thickly and look down to see the wound still bleeding. My two piece bathing suit looks like an absolute murder scene. These crystals hanging off me aren't helping either.
They're digging into my back and I sigh.
"Harley? Stay with me, we're almost there" I can hear Frost but it's as if I don't register his voice. I can tell i'm losing consciousness by the sound of his voice. He sounds far away. As if he's screaming at me from a distance. I can't even look up at him to tell him that i'm listening. All I can do is stare at the wound below.
My eyes are heavy and it's becoming harder and harder to keep my eyes open. It's been a long day. I'm really tired.
Resting my eyes for a few moments won't kill anyone.

"Where is she?!" I yell bursting through the doors of the mill. I walk towards the main area to see the doctor.
