Chapter 9: Nicholas Flamel (Library)

*After Christmas*

The four of us are in the library. Harry, Ron and I are reading while Hermione comes up with a huge book. She thumps it onto the table, Harry jumps. "I had you looking in the wrong section! How could I be so stupid? I checked this out a few weeks ago for a bit light reading". Hermione complained. Ron looks at the book, shockingly "This is light?". Hermione glares at Ron, she flips the pages and she found something about Nicholas Flamel. "Of course! Here it is! Nicholas Flamel is the-". I cut her off and I continued "Only known maker of the Philosopher's Stone". They looked at me and I questioned "What?". Hermione asked me in a anger tone "How would you know about him y/n". I smirked and told her "You're not the only one who has the brain Herm". She rolled her eyes and continued "That's what Fluffy's guarding on the third floor. That's what's under the trapdoor... The Philosopher's Stone!". They all looked each other.

Harry motioned to come closer "Listen... We need to go to Hagrid tonight and ask why Snape is going to steal the Stone". I leaned back, crossed my arms "Nope, no thanks. I have other plans. I'm just gonna read my book in the dungeon. You guys go ahead but if you'll be looking for the Stone, I'm in". So they head out back to the Common Room and wait until night time while I'm just reading a bunch of books here in the Library.

*Night time*

I looked outside and it was really dark out. As I finished reading a book, I placed it back. Along the way, I'm still reading a book. 'You're really a bookworm y/n'. Just as I was about to enter the room, I noticed that Prof. Snape was in front of the door. I just ignored him and tried to go in but he blocked me. He asked me, coldly "What are you doing here in the dungeons late at night Miss l/n?" I looked at his cold eyes and answered "I was just in the library Professor, reading a bunch of books". He crossed his arms and told me "That's detention for you Ms. l/n and 10 points from Slytherin for roaming around late at night". I kinda screamed at him and said "You can't do that to your own house!" He leaned closer to my face and whispered "YES. I. CAN. Now for your detention, you'll be with your little friends at Hagrid's Hut". So he was beside me until we reached Hagrid's Hut.

As we arrived, I saw Harry, Ron, Hermione and... Draco?!, what did he do?. Prof. Snape turned towards me and said "I'll be back in my chambers now Ms. l/n, be a good girl and listen to Mr. Filch". He dramatically turned with his cloak. 'Why does he do that every time we meet?'. I went towards them and asked "What happened to the three of you?". Ron said "It's kinda a long story". Hermione looked at me and asked "How about you y/n? What happened?" I told them "I got caught by Prof. Snape in the dungeons, roaming around late at night". Mr. Filch then appeared and starts to lead us towards Hagrid's Hut "A pity they let the old punishments die. There was a time detention would find you hanging by your thumbs in the dungeons. God I miss the screaming". Draco gulps and we just rushed by. Mr. Filch continued "You'll be serving detention with Hagrid tonight. He's got a little job to do inside the dark forest". Hagrid appears with a crossbow, he sniffles.

He looked at Mr. Filch. "Oh, good God, man, you're not still on about the bloody dragon, are you?". I asked myself 'What bloody dragon? Does Hagrid have one?'.

Hagrid sniffs and said "Norbert's gone. Dumbledore sent him off to Romania to live in a colony". Hermione tried to comfort him "Well that's good, isn't it? He'll be with his own kind". Hagrid looks at Hermione, "Yeah, but what if he don't like Romania? What if the other dragons are mean to him?. He's only a baby, after all". Mr. Filch rolled his eyes and told Hagrid "Oh, for God's sake, pull yourself together, man. You're going into the forest, after all. Got to have your wits about you". Draco asked in a scared voice "The forest? I thought that was a joke! We can't go in there. Students aren't allowed and there are... werewolves!". I rolled my eyes and went in front of him "Oh you're such a wuss Draco. I thought you were 'brave' or something". Draco glared at me and said "Wait 'till my father hears about this AND I am not a wuss!". I rolled my eyes and went far away from Draco.

Mr. Filch scared them again "There's more than werewolves in those trees, lad. You can be sure of that. Nighty-night". Draco looks frightened and Mr. Filch leaves us. "Alright, let's go" says Hagrid.

I'm so sorry that this chapter is short. I'll try my best to have more than a thousand word for each chapter but I hope you still enjoy my fanfic! If you're wondering why Snape didn't make his move yet, it's because you're still a 1st year in Hogwarts. Let's take it slow. You know about Snape, being in denial. So please stick with me until the end of the story, It's gonna be a long one I'll tell you that.
