Chapter 6: Petrified

Y/n POV

I woke up at night and realized that I slept throughout the day. I got up and started to clean myself up for dinner. I braided my hair back and felt pain on my left arm. I forgot that I became a Death Eater hours ago.... Voldemort is really back.

I grabbed my book and started to walk towards the door. The Common Room was silent except for the fire. When I went out, the dungeon was really quiet, gloomy and chilly. I covered my arms just to warm up a bit.

When I arrived at The Great Hall, it was noisy and full of students. I didn't like the atmosphere at all, I just want a peaceful meal. I proceed to sit down at the very front of the table and looked around a bit. I noticed at the Gryffindor table that Harry wasn't there but Hermione and Ron was. I didn't mind much so I started to eat a little bit.

I started to read my book and ate some mashed potatoes and some chicken. In the middle of my meal, I felt a tingle sensation down my spine. I'm not sure what it was so I didn't pay attention to it. After a minute I felt the same tingle sensation on my back!.

That's when I got irritated. I closed my book and stood up. I walked outside the Great Hall and headed somewhere far. Along the silent corridors, I saw Harry, Ron and Hermione. I walked up to them "Hey guys, what's up?" I said cheerfully.

Harry pointed towards the wall and I saw a lot of small spiders. "Strange. I've never seen spiders act like that" said Harry, being confused.

"I don't like spiders... " said Ron "What's that?". He pointed towards the bloody wall.
"The Chamber of Secrets has been opened... enemies of the heir... beware.' It's written in blood" said Hermione.

Then we noticed that Mrs. Norris was hanging by a pole "Oh, no... It's Filch's cat. It's Mrs. Norris" said Harry.

Is this one of Tom's plan? To petrify others? I wonder if Ginny is alright.....

The Slytherins and Ravenclaws were there, formed in a line. We stood there frozen, we didn't know what to do.

Madame Pomfrey arrived, she was shocked! "Enemies of the heir beware!' You'll be next, Mudbloods!" said Draco while looking at Hermione. Next, something bad happened.... Mr. Filch arrived "What's going on 'ere? Go on, make way, make way. Potter-- What are you..." then he saw his cat on the wall "Mrs. Norris? You've...murdered my cat" said Mr. Filch while staring at Harry immensly.

Harry screamed "No! No!". Mr. Filch was still trying to choke him "I'll kill ya... I'll kill ya!". Then finally, Prof. Dumbledore arrived.
"Argus! Argus, I... " said Prof. Dumbledore while pulling Mr. Filch back. "Everyone will proceed to their dormitories immediately. Everyone except... you four".

Slytherins and Ravenclaws passed by and went to their Common Rooms. Lockhart also arrived at the scene.

"She's not dead, Argus. She has been Petrified" said Prof. Dumbledore

"Ah, thought so. So unlucky I wasn't there. I know exactly the counter curse that could have spared her" said Lockhart while smiling.

"But how she has been Petrified, I cannot say..." said Dumbledore in a low voice.

"Ask him. It's him who's done it. You saw what he wrote on the wall" said Mr. Filch while pointing towards Harry.

Harry looked at Prof. Dumbledore and said "It's not true sir, I swear. I never touched Mrs. Norris". Mr. Filch screamed "Rubbish!".

"If I might, Headmaster?" said Prof. Snape while stepping forward out from the shadow. "Perhaps Potter and his friends were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, the circumstances are suspicious. I, for one, don't recall seeing Potter at dinner".
