Chapter 17: The Second Task

Y/n POV:

(A Few Days Later)

Today was the day of the second task, my friends, their boyfriends and my Severus decided to watch it but we aren't planning to watch the third one, except for Snape of course.

Severus and I sat down where the staff was, while my friends were sitting on the other side. Prof. Dumbledore arrived with the rest of the staff and he sat down beside Severus.

"I heard the news Ms. Y/n" said Prof. Dumbledore delightfully.

I got confused "Sir? Pardon me but, I don't understand what you're talking about".

Prof. Dumbledore came closer "I heard the news and I was delighted! Congratulations to you and Severus here".

Snape and I looked at each other with confusion. "But Albus, I didn't even tell you that part yet".

Prof. Dumbledore chuckled "A Headmaster always knows" then he winked at me, it made me smile.

"Well I must go on now, the second task is about to start" then he left without another word.

I laughed a bit "Prof. Dumbledore never fails to surprise us". Snape chuckled "That's Albus for you".

I looked around a bit and noticed that eyes were on me. I can tell that they're talking about me or Severus, my hands started shaking.

And then, Snape held my hand tightly secretly. I looked at him and smiled, he was looking front, in a proper posture with a cold face but I know behind that cold face is a concerned, loving man "Don't mind them y/n. Think what they want to think".

I nodded. I looked at my friends and they seem so happy, I wish that their happiness would last forever. They look more lively than before, even more confident. The sad part is... the boys would leave at the end of the year.

"Welcome to the second task!". The crowd gets noisier.

"Last night something was stolen from each of our champions. A treasure of sorts. These four treasures, one for each champion, now lie on the bottom of the black lake. In order to win each champion need only find their treasure and return to the surface. Simple enough. Except for this, they will have one hour to do so and one hour only. After that they'll be on their own". said Prof. Dumbledore.

He continued "You may begin at the start of the cannon". Then boom! the cannon starts to go off earlier than expected!

The other three champions dived in sync while Harry was twittering, so Alastor (a.k.a Barty Jr.) had to push him into the water. Not gonna lie, it made me laugh a bit.

I saw Harry's friends being worried for him, they think Harry has drowned or something? I looked at Severus and he was angry, nervous and a bit worried.

I came closer to his ear "Don't worry Severus, Harry's gonna live". He looked at me "It's not only that. I'm mad at him because he might have stolen the Gillyweed from my office when I'm not around!".

"Hush Sev, calm down... I'm sure that he didn't stole it. Maybe he asked it from Prof. Sprout?" I said calmly.

He didn't look or answer me but he was shaking his leg so much. I looked back and saw Harry, he flies into the air like a dolphin and the crowd cheered. Harry goes back into the water.

Snape let out a sigh of relief, "See? Told you, Harry's gonna live".

When Harry disappeared onto the water, the crowd died down a bit. I was tapping my legs with both of my hands and was humming a random tone.
