Klaire's POV:

Zoe clutches my hand and led me further into the crowd of people. I followed behind her cautiously as the vampires turned in the direction we were headed and growled lowly at me. I didn't want to look at any of them.

"Wait you two!" I heard Lucas say in the background as he and Jasper followed behind us. Everyone parts way as Jasper walks up to me and smiles down at me, the sunlight hitting his blue eyes perfectly.

It just felt like the two of us in that moment, no one else was there but us as we smiled at each other. All the vampires around eyed us curiously and I could tell that they were trying to mind their business but kept glancing over at us in the middle of the walkway to see what would happen.

Jasper smiles and leans down to kiss me then and I smile against his lips. "Jasper, not here." I whisper as people gasp in surprise as what they just witnessed. He shakes his head then, a confused look covers my face until it clicks. "Xavier?" I whisper even lower and he smiles like a dork and places his finger to his lips to hush me before grabbing my hand and leading us to where Zoe and Lucas began walking up a narrow path.

"I missed you, my little dragonfly." He says as it got quieter, I blush at his comment and clutch his hand tighter as we walk up the narrow path, following Lucas and Zoe.

I didn't know where we were going, all I knew was that it was a surprise and that it was meant to be a really good area for the romantic couple. Jasper and I were... something in between. I wouldn't say we were a close couple that people adored but we were more than what we were beforehand.

I was honestly glad that I wasn't where I used to be, that I could be free now. Jasper has showed nothing but care and love since he rescued me, and I was thinking he was changing for the better. I knew he still had a long way to go, but I wasn't going to push him away like I did before. What happened to my parents was in the past, and yes, I miss them dearly, and I could never forget them, but I had to move on; they wouldn't want me to mourn for so long, they'd want me to be happy.

"I missed you too." I whisper and lean my head to his as we then walked up a few steps. When we got to the top, we turned down another narrow path that now had trees covering the walkway. The birds chirped loudly yet calmly in the distance as my eyes kept the the front as we walked towards a large tree.

From the tree, I could see that their was fairy lights hanging from the branches and a blanket and a picnic basket in the middle of the area. I gasp and turn back to Xavier who was already looking at me, he smiles and let's go of my hand and I go up to Zoe and pull her along to the blanket.

We both sit on the blanket as the two guys sit opposite us. "We won't have to worry about having to go back because of the sun hurting." Lucas said.

"I won't." I giggle and they laugh at me. There was a pause then before I spoke once more, "it's weird I'm having a double date thing with vampires." I whisper.
