Jasper's POV:

I was going out my mind not being able to see her. Her smile, her body pressed against mine, her hair moving in the breeze or the way she would yell at me. I admit seeing her with that Alpha werewolf made my anger boil because she was my mate and no one touches what's mine, but also guilt filled my body at how I couldn't treat her like a normal mate would. I hated myself for it!

I had to research the pack to find more of what she had gotten herself into, I needed to know she was safe even if I wasn't there. Even if I weren't there and she never wanted to see me again, I needed to know she was safe with them.

Lucas comes through the door then, he had been helping me collect files on this werewolf pack. "Your majesty, I couldn't find much, but here is what I found and I think you'd like to see it." He says and places the two filed cases on my desk. I start to flick through the papers on the pack. "You know, I hate humans, I only see them as things for me to use, but if this one is really your mate, then I can accept her."

I look up at Lucas then, an expression of slight happiness crossed my face. "Did you find anything on the surrounding packs that are at the edge of Watersbound Creek?" I ask him and he nods and points to the section that I haven't read yet.

"The pack that Klaire is with, is the pack that was at Watersbound Creek." Lucas says and stands up straight with his hands on his hips. Confusion covers my face then, how did they get so close to here when they were on the outskirts of the land a few days ago? It would take months for them to reach here on foot.

I look at Lucas then, "but how did they manage that?" I ask more to myself then him. My mind drifted to Klaire then and how she could be in danger and an uneasy feeling crept into me.

He shrugs slightly at my question, "the only thing I can think of is that they're enhanced somehow and the only way for them to become like that is from a witch."

I shake my head at him, "of course not, witches don't want anything to do with any other race, they keep to themselves. Why would they help?" I explain.

Having known so much knowledge on any supernatural creature was a lot, because you are used to how they act traditionally, like werewolves hating vampires and witches not wanting anything to do with anyone else, but what if those times have changed and they're evolving? Perhaps they were coming together to try and overpower us?

My uneasiness increased. I needed to get Klaire out of there.

Klaire's POV:

I smile widely and tackle Martha in a hug. "Oh honey, you've grown up so big." Martha whispers in my ear and I sighed. It's been so long. I think back to the last time I saw her...

The rogue vampires had finally caught up to us and found out we had been hiding in a small tent that was cloaked from supernatural creatures from seeing it. They had fire and was planning to destroy everything just to get to us. Martha smiles at me and lent down to be eye level with me.
