Xavier's POV:

I knew from the moment Jasper laid eyes on her, I had to get her. I had to make her mine whether or not Jasper listened to me or not. She was mine.

I don't know why I felt this connection towards her but she had to see that we thought she was beautiful. Even Jasper's breath got caught in his throat when he saw her standing on the podium, but he quickly regained his composure and walked down the hallway and towards her.

He wanted to buy a 'pet' as he called them. In my opinion they weren't much different from us, we just drank blood and were immortal. Jasper has to see that this world still had good people, good vampires in them, and I was one stuck inside this monster.

Ever since what happened all those years ago, he shut himself off, not caring if the people around him got hurt in the process. He was ruthless now. A murderer; he killed with no remorse and loved each and every second of it and it sickened me to the least.

When she slapped Jasper in the face, I knew she was in trouble. Well, Jasper did deserve it as he kept commenting how useless she was and how he could use her body as he pleased, but being inside Jasper all these years had made me understand him - mostly anyways. He thought she was beautiful but tried to cover up his desire for her by being mean.

When she was dragged away by two guards roughly, I watched inside Jasper with disgust. How could people be so rude and careless? God knows what they would do to her while she was taken away.

'You need to get her, Jasper.' I comment to the man who overlooked the crowd with emotionless eyes. He wanted them to fear him. Being inside the king was a constant war in his head when he wouldn't comply with me. I had as much authority over him as he did me, we were the same person basically.

'Why's that?' His voice was cold in his head as he spoke back and I mentally rolled my eyes at him.

He needed to know that she was special. In fact, he did know she was special somehow but he was too stubborn to do anything about it, and if I had to take control of him, then so be it.

No one outside our close family knew me. Everyone vampire has a second side - an alter ego to them, but none had to privilege of meeting me, and if today was that day then it will be. All I knew was that this women was worth it.

Jasper sighed internally not wanting to deal with me and began to make his way down the halls to where this woman was kept. He walked in calmly and cleared his throat. Seeing the guard that took her in hear with his hand around her throat made me snarl on the inside but Jasper paid no attention to me, or him.

"Victoria, what does her data say?" Jasper spoke and Victoria quickly flipped through the pages of the book which kept every human that was auctioned off in it.

Victoria looked at Jasper for a quick second before speaking hurriedly. "Well, your majesty, her name is Klaire Night. She's 19 and her parents died from a rogue attack when she was 6. She was moved to Mr John Clever's pet store 2 months after her parents passing before King Fray collected her a week ago and shipped her here."
