Chapter 11- I didn't mean to, I swear.

Clary POV

Before Simon and I can react to the icy voice, an electric blue flash appears in front of Simon, knocking him to the ground unconscious.

"Simon!" I shout, running to kneel by his side. "What did you do to him?" I ask, looking up at Sebastian for the first time.

"Don't worry, we just knocked him out. He'll wake up in a few minutes without remembering what happened," Sebastian says, standing up tall.

"We?" I question, looking down at Simon. His mouth is open slightly, a lock of hair covering his eyes. Sebastian shifts slightly to the left and I notice a small figure, previously concealed by Sebastian's figure. The boy looks about sixteen and has silver scars all up his thin arms. The boy's skin has a green tint and his neck is abnormally long.

"This is my pet warlock, Daniel." The warlock- Daniel- flinches as Sebastian says his name, his skin flashing a purple colour.

"Pet?" I spit the word out. From studying Daniel's posture, I can tell that Sebastian was the cause of those long silver scars that stand out against the warlock's now purple skin. Sebastian ignores my question, and repositions himself so that he is standing right in front of me.

"Come with me, sister," Sebastian says, holding his hand out to me. I look at it with disgust and shift my gaze up to his black eyes, endless tunnels of terror. "No?" He questions, raising his eyebrows up at me. "Then maybe Daniel should send your friend into a permanent sleep. Daniel you-"

"No!" I shout, jumping to my feet. "Do what you want to me, just don't hurt him!"

A smirk finds its way onto Sebastian's lips his soulless eyes shining with victory. "Very well," he says turning his back to me.

"You know what to do." I feel something hard, hit my head, and without another thought, I drift into a sleep.

When I wake up, I feel like I'm weightless, my feet unable to reach the ground. I slowly open my eyes and see my least favourite person carrying me. I squeak in surprise and roll out of my brother's arms to crash onto the ground face first. Sebastian grabs my wrist and fiercely yanks me onto my feet.

"Don't bother trying to run away, Clary," he hisses, our faces inches apart. "Remember what I said about Jocelyn and the Daylighter."

"Daylighter." I repeat, my head flaring with pain. I recognise that word... that name.

"Damn!" Sebastian curses, pulling me around the corner before taking out his stele. I don't bother trying to pull away, I know it will never work. I don't recognise what he draws, but he nods- satisfied with what he's done.

"Stay here," he says smiling, before casually walking through a door, his hands shoved into the pockets of his jeans.

Immediately I try and run away. I turn and run two steps before slamming into some invisible wall and landing, oh so elegantly, on my backside. I don't know what Sebastian did, but it looks like I'm stuck here. -------------------------------------------------------

I wait for about ten minutes before I see Sebastian's pale figure walk out of the door. He gives me a quick glance and says, "What do you want?"

"I want to know why you were just watching that demon with my sister," a familiar voice replies. A voice that fills my stomach with butterflies and leaves my head unable to think; Jace. The angelic boy walks from behind the door, facing Sebastian.

"Jace," I say, trying to get his attention. He ignores me, so I try raising my voice, but he continues his conversation with Sebastian.

I can feel my pulse beating in my neck, my heart trying to break out of its cage. I silently ask myself why he isn't listening to me.

"Please Jace," I beg, "Jace! Jace. Jace?" I see a small furrow in his brows as he looks in my direction for a second. His eyes take in the air around me, but instead of looking at me he's looking through me.

He can't see me: I'm transparent. I realise that it's pointless to try shouting him, so I just press my small hand against the invisible wall and listen to the conversation.

Sebastian is standing directly in front of Jace, his silver against Jace's gold. "Yes, Jace. I am Clarissa's brother," he says, slowly bobbing his head up and down as if talking to a child.

"She's quite the actress isn't she? She got you to tell her all about yourself, your family, your background, and your special abilities."

"What? Jace, no! I didn't mean to. I swear on the angel I didn't mean to," I cry ferociously thumping the invisible wall with my fists.

Suddenly, the invisible wall gives way and I stumble forward. Immediately, I look at Jace and see the anger and betrayal in his eyes. A golden lock of hair falls in front of his face and my hand is itching to be the one to push it back and place it behind his ear.

"Clary," Jace breathes before crumpling into a heap on the floor.
