Chapter 17- Just a Dream.
                              Clary POV
I shoot up like a bullet and sit there for a few moments breathing heavily. A gentle hand clamps onto my shoulder and my head whizzes around.
                              "Jace?" I ask.
"Of course," he replies, looking at me weirdly. His uncertain look turns to one of worry as he sees my petrified expression. "Are you okay? You were screaming."
I smile timidly and release a breathy laugh, "Just a bad dream is all."
"You were saying my name," he adds. Dammit, I silently curse myself.
"Like I said: a bad dream," I joke. He rolls his eyes at me and simply shrugs it off.
"Do you want to tell me what it was about?" he asks me.
"No," I reply confidently- my voice coming out much stronger than I expected it to. "It's okay."
"Alright then," he smiles at me and goes to lie back on the floor. Wait.
                              "Jace?" I ask again.
                              "Yeah?" He says sleepily.
"Can I ask you something?" I reply.
                              "Of course," Jace states.
"I thought I fell asleep on the floor," I say.
"That's a statement: not a question," he retorts.
"Okay then; why aren't I on the floor anymore?" I ask.
                              "Huh?" he yawns.
"I fell asleep on the floor, but now I'm in the bed," I say.
"Oh yeah," Jace replies quietly. "I moved you."
                              "Why?" I ask.
"Just go back to sleep, Clary," he laughs.
"Okay," I say. I wait a few more moments before saying for the final time, "Jace?"
                              "Yeah?" he laughs.
                              "Thank you," I tell him.
"Don't worry about it," he replies before yawning and rolling over.
I follow his example and lie down on the bed. I let my eyes flutter close before drifting into a dreamless sleep.
