Chapter 18- The Letter.
Jace POV
When I wake up, I see Clary softly snoozing, cocooned in a heap of baby blue blankets. I chuckle to myself slightly and shake my head at her child-like vulnerability. Sighing, I begin to make my way into the bathroom when I see a screwed up piece of paper by the door. I pick up the ball and open it up; attempting to smooth out the creases.
Clarissa,
My desire and lust for you shall not be my weakness nor my undoing, but our strength. With your unique gift and my skill, our love will create magnificent things and destroy all that tries to challenge us. You are mine, Clarissa Adele Morgenstern, you belong to me.
It will all begin with just one rune, created by yourself; a love rune. It shall turn even the most burning hatred into possession and love. I intend to use such rune upon you, Clarissa; so that you may become my queen and so that you will open your eyes and realise that your rightful place is by my side. You shall draw this rune immediately and you shall not be fed nor shall your needs be attended to until I am handed an effective love rune. Do not seek to inform Jonathan that you have received this letter as terrible punishments must then be bestowed upon you.
So draw for me Clarissa, draw runes that can strengthen our love as well as our hold on the shadowhunter's race.

I feel anger bubbling up inside me. I screw the letter up in a ball and toss it across the room so that it lands perfectly in the bin. I decide to check in the drawers of the dresser to see if Sebastian has left us any clean clothes. Firstly, I look through the left side of the drawers which consists of lots of lace and silk- obviously for Clary.
Rummaging through the right hand side of the desk, I find a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt. I sigh with relief and continue to make my way to the bathroom and turn on the shower.

I know: a rediculously short chapter in comparison to my usual chapters, but I'll post another chapter now.
