"Jared come on we're gonna be late" Ever since Sunday he's been on his laptop working on the video for "The Kill" I love seeing his artistic genius at work but not when I'm trying to get to my doctor's appointment. J:"I'll be right there baby" Me:"Is that what you're going to tell our son when he's crying for his bottle" he closes is laptop and comes over and wraps his arms around me from behind as I study my reflection in the mirror. J:"No it's what I'm going to tell our daughter" I look at him in shock Me:"What!!!" J:"I'm kidding I'd never make our baby wait" he kisses my cheek as he rubs my belly Me:"Am I suppose to be this big" J:"Remember what mom said, everyone carries differently angel" Me:"I know baby but I feel like the Goodyear blimp!" J:"Well you look beautiful" Me:"Thank you love but you're biased" J:"No I'm honest, I love you" Me:"I love you more"

We finally arrive at the doctor's office, Dr. Martine Harris, MD OBGYN. J:"Martine? Sounds Criole" Me:"Hmm you're right it does, maybe she's a Louisiana native?" J:"Maybe" I check in and we sit and wait. We've decided to find out what we're having before the baby is born, we figured it would be easier to shop and decorate the nursery. Nurse:"The Doctor will see you now" we are taken back to a room where we wait for Dr. Harris to arrive. It was Jared's first time coming with me he'd been so busy with the band previously, he felt so bad about missing the first two appointments. On the way in today he said he wanted to be here for me and be involved with the pregnancy. Me:"You excited love?" J:"Yeah baby, a little scared though" I couldn't help but smile at him Me:"Why baby? She's not gonna hurt me" J:"This is all so new to me angel" Me:" For me too baby, I love you" J:"I love you more"he kisses me tenderly. DH:"Eh hem! Good Morning......" Busted!!! "......So how are we feeling today Nina?" Me:"Like the Goodyear blimp" Jared and Doctor Harris both laugh DH:"Truth be told you are a bit big for 22 weeks but everyone carries and starts showing differently" J:"That's what my mom said, it's our first baby so I guess we just don't know what to expect" DH:"It's ok, it's perfectly normal" she starts with the exam and says everything looks good and within normal range. DH:"Ready to see your baby?" I smile at Jared and we both nod yes DH:"I'll have my nurse come in and do the ultra sound, I'll see you in a bit.

The nurse comes in and let's us know she'll be starting and Dr. Harris will come back in shortly. She starts the ultra sound as Jared and I look at the screen intently. The first thing that comes up is the baby's spinal cord then a hand and a foot. Jared and I are in awe of our little miracle and our eyes tear up as images of our little angel appear on the screen. The nurse moves the probe around to get different angles, she gets a puzzled look on her face and retraces her moves N:"Hmmm" J:"Is everything ok miss" Me:"Is there something wrong with my baby" N:"No everything is fine, I'm sorry I didn't mean to alarm you. I just found something unexpected and I need Dr. Harris to verify what I'm seeing. Could you please excuse me for bit" J:"Sure go ahead" we look at each other and wonder Me:"I'm scared Jay" J:"I'm sure there's nothing wrong baby she did say everything was fine" I'm so antsy now the roughly 7 minutes it takes her to come back in feel like an eternity. Jared kisses my hand and cheek and reassures me that everything is ok but I can't stop panicking. DH:"Ok guys let's take a look at your baby, shall we?" Me:"Is my baby ok?" DH:"Don't worry Nina everything's fine" J:"Then what's going on?" DH:"I'll let you know in a sec"

She takes the probe and gently moves it over my belly. DH:"Hmm" a few more moves and she lifts her hand to the screen DH:"See this right here? There's a little face, and a hand...." She moves the probe slightly ".....this is a leg and a foot" she moves the probe again to a different area"......shy little one here's a hand arm and the back of the head....... Would you like to know what your having?" J:"Yes....please" Me:"But is my baby ok?" DH:"They're fine" wait what did she just say? We look at each other in astonishment. Dr.Harris moves the probe again and points to the screen DH:"This is your son......." She moves the probe again"......and this is your daughter. Congratulations you guys you're having twins" Me:"Wait....what??" My eyes filled with tears I look at Jared an he's crying too J:"Twins? He looks at me with love in his eyes, not only did we create one little miracle we created two. We're gonna have two little angels to love. He kisses miss me lovingly J:"I love you so much my sweet angel, thank you for our little miracles" Me:"No, thank you. I love you more" Dr. Harris gives us pics to take home and share. We are still floored by the news but incredibly happy, we're going to be a family. We couldn't wait to share our good news!
