Brielle POV
We got Derek's family moved into a house here in Houston a few days ago. Desi transferred to school here and Sarah and Ebony are working for my mom. She needed a new assistant and she hired them both.
I was offered another position within the bureau and it has had me doing a lot of thinking. The position I was offered would allow me to be home more. It's a Monday-Friday job. I would have set hours and be home on the weekends. It also pays more.
I have to go talk to Hotch about this.
I walked into his office.
Hotch: Hey Brielle.
Me: Do you have time to talk?
Hotch: Yes. Come on in and sit down.
I went in and sat down.
Hotch: What's going on?
Me: I don't know if you were notified but I was offered another position within the bureau.
Hotch: Yes, I was. What do you think?
Me: I love this team so much. But I think this job would be a good opportunity for me.
Hotch: Its your decision Brielle. You do what's best for you.
Me: Okay.
Hotch: When are they expecting a decision from you?
I took a deep breath.
Me: Today.
Hotch: Alright. Let me know when you make your decision.
Me: I will.
I left his office and went to find Derek. He was in his office finishing up some paperwork.
He looked up when I walked in.
Derek: Hey baby.
Me: Hey babe. Do you have time to talk?
Derek: I always have time for you.
I smiled as I walked over to him.
Me: Well, I was offered another position here in the bureau.
Derek: A new position? Where?
Me: I would be a lawyer. The hours are more set in stone. The amount of travelling is a lot less and it's a lot more money.
Derek: Do you want to take the job?
Me: I do. I'm just going to really miss working with this team. We're a family.
Derek: And we will still all be a family. Members of a family go off and do different things but that doesn't change the fact that we are all a family.
Me: You're right. I guess I should go talk to Hodges and let him know I'm accepting the position.
Derek got up and came over to hug ne.
Derek: I'm proud of you baby.
Me: I love you so much.
Derek: I love you more.
We kissed and then I left. I have to go notify Hodges of decision.
I left the BAU's office and got on the elevator, heading up to the 17th floor.
Hodges was in his office.
I knocked and he told me.to come in.
I did.
Hodges: Have a seat Ms. King.
I did.
Hodges: Have you made your decision?
