A/N: This chapter contains smut towards the end, just a heads up.
-Cayde-
"So does anyone have any idea of where Bela might be?" Xander asks, looking at me and Uldren, while we were both eating ramen. We have been sitting here for an hour, eating, and not talking.
"Last location I had on her was at the funeral. Once she left the funeral, that was it. It's as if the universe swallowed her up." I told him showing him the pad of possible places I thought she was at.
"Last I had for her was Mars. Meridian Bay. After a few hours the signal was gone and when I went there to investigate, there was no trace of her ever being there. She's good, gotten better at hiding her whereabouts. Which brings me to Xander." Uldren says. Xander raises an eyebrow.
"What about me?" he asks. Uldren scoffs, eating more ramen before speaking again.
"How did you find out it was Bela that had been going around killing things in the system?" he asks. Xander looks at Uldren, shrugging.
"I don't know. The armor. The-" Uldren interrupted him.
"Chest....armor?" Xander asks. We exchange looks and then laugh.
"I wanted to laugh so bad at that in there." Xander says. Uldren nods.
"I can't believe Petra of all people said that. Mara won't be happy." he says. I Iaugh too and after a few moments, Uldren clears his throat, getting serious.
"I'm worried about her. I called her, texted her, everything. Never got an answer back. I even tried tracking her cellphone but the signal was coming from Venus, which is the last place that she-" he stops talking, eyes widening.
"That's it. That's where she's at. She's in Venus." I say. Xander finishes his ramen and looks to me and then back to Uldren.
"How do you know that?" Xander asks. Uldren quickly drains his bowl of the broth.
"Because it's the last place we'd expect her to go. Let's go." I say. We pay for the food and then head out to our ships. I already knew the way to Venus and so I took lead, hoping to find Bela well, and hoping to convince her to stop the killings. Maybe, just maybe, I could convince her to bounty hunt the other Guardian.
"I got a hit on her signal. She's by the archives." Xander informs me as we travel.
"Luckily, I know how to get there." I murmur. They follow me down to the nearest landing pad and then we head off on foot. We can't find a way inside. Xander sighs, bringing his Ghost out.
"Any way you can hack this, Tala?" he asks. Tala looked almost exactly like Ares, except her shell was golden and black, Ares was a darker teal color.
"I can give it a go." she says. Uldren looks at the Ghost, seemingly surprised to hear a woman's voice come from the Ghost.
"I didn't know there were more female Ghosts." Uldren says. Xander nods.
"Yep, Tala here and Sundance, Cayde's Ghost. There are many more out there." he says. After a few minutes, Tala sighs, moving her shell in frustration.
"Ares is a lot like Bela, unpredictable, unruly, unstable, extremely intelligent, always going the extra mile when it comes to security..." she says. "Maybe Sundance can give it a go." she suggests.
I look over to them, having been deep in thought and I brought Sundance out, who has a ruby colored shell.
"I mean, I'm no Ophiuchus, but let's take a look..." she says. She scans the area and whirrs a bit. "Bela is a lot like Cayde...and Ares takes after his Guardian...going by that logic, she figured everyone would have a hard time cracking the code because they're looking too much into it. If you only look at the surface however..." she says rearranging the codes slightly and hearing a click. "...you'll realize it's quite simple. She didn't count on Cayde coming after her." she says triumphantly.
