Hey guys! This is it, the final chapter for this book. I've been slowly working on the next one and I'm still not sure about the title for it. For those of you who have read this, I appreciate it very much. I'm trying to improve myself as a writer and I'd like your feedback, as always. Thank you for the views on this, I never thought it would take off and get any views. Ever.

Enjoy this last chapter. I'll be publishing the first chapter of the new book a week from the day I publish this chapter. The name of the book is "Through Glass".

I arrive at the Tower at three am. Lilith is probably still awake, she's a night owl. I head to her apartment, every footstep leading me to doom. I feel...resigned. Mara's right; I should've never gotten involved with Lilith again. I thought only of myself. I was selfish. I knock on her door and she unlocks it, sees my face and she smiles, big and bright. Happy. It breaks me to see her smile. I memorize every detail of her face, her warm brown eyes, her high cheekbones, her perfect lips, her cute nose, her beautiful skin color, the markings around her eyes that look like eyeshadow and make her eyes stand out.

"This is a lovely surprise." she says, pulling me inside and closing the door. She locks up and takes me to her couch.

"Lilith." I say stiffly. Her smile fades.

"What's wrong? Are you hurt?" she asks, checking me. I shake my head.

"It's not that." I say.

"Then what's up? I thought you weren't going to come back until the morning." she says.

"I wasn't. The mission is starting later. I came to let you know I'm leaving." I say.

"Oh. Well, okay then. Are you gonna spend the night then until you have to leave?" she asks.

"No, Lilith. I'm leaving you. Not for the mission or because of it. Because I want to." I say. I can see the gears in her mind turning, the realization hit.

"You're...breaking up with me..." she says quietly. Her good mood vanished and I want to scream and tell her the truth, all of it. But I can't. I swore to Mara that I wouldn't.

"Yes, I am." I say flatly. She looks at me, nodding slowly.

"I...understand. I am difficult to deal with after all.." she says.

"Lilith, you're not difficult. It's just-"

"Then why?" she asks softly. I can hear the heartbreak in her voice. The hope leaving.

"I...I gotta go." I say, standing up. I need to leave now or else I'll be weak and stay.

"Wait." she says. I look at her and she stands in front of me.

"What?"

"Just...one last kiss." she says. "Before you leave."

I nod. I bring her close to me and I kiss her. We kiss for a few minutes and pull away.

"Just one?" I ask.

"Just one..." she whispers. I kiss her again but this time it's frenzied. Wanting. Needing. She pulls me against her and soon we're both naked and I have her against the couch. I slide into her and she moans my name, her fingers in my hair. We make sweet love for the first and last time since she awoke without memories of anything, of us. I savor and memorize every curve on her body, every feeling, every touch. Her scent mixed with my own is dangerous.

In the morning, when we're done, we both get dressed. She gives me one last kiss. It's sweet, deep, and full of love.

"Goodbye." I say.
