Bela's POV

I open my eyes slowly, letting them adjust to the sunlight that's pouring into my room. I try moving and find that although I'm free from the rope, my body is sore all over. I groan, gingerly stretching my arms then my legs so that I can sit up. I look around me and neither Uldren or Cayde are here. I smile a bit, massaging the back of my neck.

Is this how you felt when I would leave every time we had sex Cayde...?

I get up, walking slowly to the bathroom and turning on the hot water in my stand in shower. I take a quick shower and then I fill my tub with hot water and add a bath bomb. I slip inside and let my breath out as the warm water works wonders on my sore body. I take a look at myself and see a hicky on my thigh and then I realize I've got them on my inner thighs, my stomach, my breasts and when I grab a small mirror and look at myself, they're on my neck and shoulders too. I put it back down and smile, biting my lip, the events from last night replaying in my mind in bits and pieces. Despite the fact that I'm sore, I slide a hand down and rub my folds, arching my back slightly. I tease myself, gripping my breast and a small moan escapes me.

I wish Cayde or Uldren were here...

Once I was done soaking, I stood up and dried myself of, walking back into my bedroom and opening my closet. I grabbed the newest armor I had and threw it on my bed to wear later. In the meantime, I put on a simple black tank top and some running shorts and headed to the kitchen to make some food. I walk in and to my surprise, I see Uldren in the kitchen cooking. He's only got some black sweatpants on and they're hanging low on his hips. I bite my lips and instead walk to the fridge and I pull the orange juice out, serving myself a glass. He glances at me and smirks.

"Well good morning to you too, babygirl." he says, pulling out a plate and putting two over easy eggs, some bacon, and a stack of pancakes on there. He hands it to me and I smile.

"Good morning indeed." I say, eyeing his torso. He chuckles and serves himself some food. I grab two mugs and I serve us some coffee, preparing both before handing him a mug.

"Four-"

"Four spoons of sugar and a dash of cream. I know the drill." I say with a smile. He smiles back at me and sits down across me.

"I swear, you'd be an excellent wife." he murmurs. I blush and drink my coffee, feeling it burn my throat but I don't really care, I need a distraction. He clears his throat before looking away. "Cayde had to leave early. Vanguard meeting. He said he won't be able to go with us for the bounty hunt."

I nod, eating and looking out my small window in the kitchen. The Last City looks so peaceful at the moment.

"Bela, Cayde...he uh...regrets this." he says. I turn my attention to him.

"What?" I ask, a feeling of foreboding building in my chest. "Why? What did he say?" I ask. He looks at me and then down to his food.

"He said he'll talk to you later..." he says carefully. I look into his mind and find the information I'm looking for and my chest constricts painfully.

"I don't think I love her the way I used to. I think... I think I fell out of love....dont get me wrong, she's still my friend and always will be. She's my partner and all, but... I think that's it. Last night showed me that although I desire her, I want something...more. Someone who isn't -"

I stop the memory there but I hear what he says afterwards. Damaged. I set my fork down and I hold back the tears. Uldren looks at me and sighs.

"Why did you look into my memory for it?" he asks quietly. I look at him.

"To once and for all prove that I was right...I'm just a body. Good for killing and a good time." I say, I stand up and head to my bedroom but Uldren pulls me back.
