Chapter 7

Aubrey's POV

He grabbed my hand and walked me into his house. It was smaller than my house and it was super sweet. It was nice to see such a humble family, he led me to the kitchen where his mom was cooking dinner. "Hey Alexander- Oh you must be Aubrey. You're even prettier than what he said." She smiled at me.

"I'm sorry for not telling you I was coming over with her. It was a little fast." He kissed my cheek and I felt the blush spread to my cheeks.

"It's fine dear, tonight we're having lasagna. I hope you like it Aubrey, it's my secret recipe." She smiled.

"I bet I will." I smiled shyly as he led me to his room. He sat down on his bed and I sat down next to him. His room was cute. His bed was pushed to one side of the wall and he had a desk at the end.

"I think I should tell you something." He mumbled.

"You can say anything. I'm just glad I didn't have to go home." I smiled at him but he didn't smile back. He looked scared to tell me whatever he was going to tell me. I grabbed his hand and he smiled. "We're not rich like you."-He couldn't look me in the eyes-"I'm basically the result of a one-night stand. He gives us money so we don't tell anyone about it. He even pays for tuition at the school." He mumbled.

I didn't know what to say. A million questions flooded my head but I needed to keep them in. I didn't want to make him feel upset or less of me, "It's okay. I wouldn't break up with you because of this. We like each other and that's all that matters." I smiled. He quickly kissed me on the lips, he even started peppering kisses down my neck. I loved it, but I didn't want his mom to walk in. "Sorry." He mumbled.

"No, it's just your mom." I smiled and he laced our fingers together. We fell back onto the bed and I laid my head on his chest listening to his heartbeat. "Am I allowed to ask questions about this?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"So does this guy just pay you monthly, give you expensive clothes, and everything else?" I just wanted to understand more, I felt like I needed too.

He drew in a breath and started thinking. "Well he wants me to look like I fit in. I've never met him. Mom says I look just like him. But he gives me everything I need so I can fit in."

"I think you fit in quite well. You're popular and handsome." I looked up at him and he kissed me once more. "I've never really told anyone this. Not even the boys."

"The boys would understand, don't you think?"

"No. I don't think so. They care about money and power, it's scary sometimes. But if someone were to find out the school can't kick me out. Even if I get in trouble from kissing my hot girlfriend."

"Would you get in trouble right now? I kinda miss your lips." I smiled. He nodded and kissed me again. Jesus, his kisses were addicting. He kept pecking my lips. I smiled against his lips. "I think we should get ready for dinner." He mumbled.

"I think we're ready." I whispered. A deep laugh came from him. There was a knock on the door and in walked his little sister. I remembered him telling me that she's thirteen. "Dinners ready Alex and his girlfriend."

I laughed, "I'm Aubrey, what's your name?"

"Claire." She smiled.

"The toddler's name is Mathew." Alex said. I nodded my head and got up fixing my hair. We walked into the kitchen and I saw a man sitting at the table. I was guessing it was Claire's and Mathews father. It didn't look like it affected Alex, I hoped it didn't.

"You must be Aubrey."

"It's nice to meet you sir." I sat down and Alex sat with me. His family was so sweet. I found out his mom worked at hair salon, she even said she'd do highlights for me! His father? Stepfather? I don't know, but he works on a base. Claire's in middle school and Mathews in pre-k. He's super adorable!

We all talked and at some point I felt happy being with their family. It wasn't as insane as mine and they all talked to each other. They didn't talk about work twenty four seven either. It was a breath of fresh air.

"Are you spending the night dear?" Kerry, his mother, asked. Now I was surprised she even brought it up.

"I don't have too. I was kind of hoping too. My parents have been up my as- butt lately. I just can't go back They-"

"Don't worry dear. You don't need to explain. You can stay for as long as you need too. Right, Finn?"

"Of course. No funny business." He joked. I looked at Alex who frowned. I hit his arm and started laughing, "Like there was even going to be any!"

I got up and walked in his room, "Trust me, there's going to be some funny business tonight."
