Sadé typed on her phone to her husband as his building elevator took her up to his office floor. She had a huge smile on her face since she had planned to surprise him and bring him lunch. The elevator signaled that she had arrived and she put her phone away and separated one paper bag from the other. She had bought lunch for his assistant, who was a middle aged woman who treated them like her own children. Misses Zungu had been with Omari since day one but to her surprise she found a younger lady in the office outside his.' Who authorized you to come up here.'
' I don't need authorization.'
' Ma'am this floor is private and only Omari and I are the only one's who can come up here without authorization.'
Sadé was taken aback by the fact that this little girl was calling her husband by his first name like she knew him at a personal level. She kissed her teeth and walked towards her husband's office but the girl quickly ran and stood infront of his office doors blocking her from going in.
' You cannot go in there!'
' As his wife I can and please move.'
' He did not inform me that his wife would be coming and so I have no proof that you are who you say you are. If you would please let me enquire with him first.'
Sadé was taken aback and showed her her huge wedding ring. More like put it in her face.
' Is that proof enough for you?!'
The woman almost fell back when one of the doors was suddenly opened behind her and an agitated Omari surfaced.
' What the _ Baby?, what are you doing here and standing out here?'
' Ask her.'
The girl looked down before apologising.
' Sorry sir I didn't know-'
' Oh he's sir now?! He has more pictures of me on his desk than his does of his kids and you didn't know who I was.'
' Babe I'm sure Mpumi made an honest mistake. Is that my lunch?'
Mpumi walked away as Omari welcomed his wife with a kiss and ushered her into his office.
' Where's misses Zungu and when did she start working for you?'
Omari had already started digging into his food and was about to take another spoonful when his wife questioned him.
' I told you misses Zungu retired a month ago and Mpumi has been working for me since.'
' You didn't and I want her fired.'
' On what grounds?'
' She's incompetent. How can you work for someone for a month and not know his family.'
' It was a mistake babe.'
' Mistakes cost money. Why are you even taking her side or are you planning on sleeping with her. You know what, I've lost my appetite.'
Omari sighed when she stormed out of his office.
' Sadé don't you think that you were a bit harsh?'
' Aya I will not let Omari do me like Axel did you. I've worked hard to get here.'
