' Come on man. You can do this. You're Axel and have been preparing for this moment since the first day you saw her with Emily.'

He spoke to himself outside her room at the resort they were visiting. He came over to invite her to chill with him and the guys at the resort's beach. He hoped she would not turn him down like she had her friends who went shopping. Ayanda was stood up by her boyfriend for another woman and she had a hard time dealing with it.

' Can I help you?'

' I wanted to come over and invite you to join the guys and I by the beach. As you know the girls are out, so there'll be an over supply of testosterone.'

' Thank you but I don't think I should be surrounded by men at this time.'

' I understand. Can I surro-, I mean join you in whatever you're doing.'

' I was making myself a salad.'

' I thought during such times women ate chocolate and ice cream not salads. There's nothing comforting in salads.'

Ayanda gave him a small smile.

' Well Axe, I'm allergic to chocolate and I only have salad making ingredients in this room.'

' Well I can make you something better than a salad just give me ten minutes. I'll be back.'

He returned in less than ten minutes and made her chicken wraps.

' Has anyone ever told you that you have a very calming smile? Like when you smile all the troubles one has are forgotten and for a second one feels at peace.'

Ayanda's smile was the last thing he saw before he was shaken awake by his mother. He opened his eyes to a doctor standing infront of him. He checked the time on his wrist watch to find that he has been here for four hours

' Sorry for the late update mister Lyon . Did your wife not know she has allergies?'

' Yes she knows them. Like I told the nurse she's allergic to cocoa and cinnamon. She would never intentionally ingest it and is very careful. As far as I know all we had was a fruit salad she brought home but she did not even eat much. I'm the one who ate then kissed her. Now that I think about it, it had an unusual taste to it.'

' I guess you've figured out she had an anaphylactic reaction to something. I am waiting on the results from the bloods we took to know what exactly she reacted to. Unfortunately mister Lyon her reaction was so severe she fell into a coma and as of yet we do not know when she will wake up.'

The doctor continued to explain how they had treated her, what she was given and what the plan was but he no longer heard anything. The news of the woman he loved being in a coma deafened and paralyzed him. He sat frozen with tears streaming down his cheeks while his father comforted his mother.
