''Aaarggghh!!!!''
Ayanda screamed out in pain when she suddenly stepped on a toy soldier.
'' Boys I told you to pick your toys up from the floor and put them in your play box. I won't do it again, you took them out so you put them back!''
The boys ran past her chasing each other and laughing but did not do as told. She took off her left sleeper and chased after them but a cry from the nursery stopped her in her tracks.
'' Hey mommy's little princess. Mommy must have scared you with all that screaming.''
She cooed to her seven and a half month old baby girl. She quietly breastfed her daughter with both of them concentrated on each that they did not notice Axel standing in the doorway of the nursery. Ambrosia was born prematurely one and a half months after the disappearance of her older sister.
'' You both know that there are other people living in this house right.''
'' Right now we are the only one's that matter. I am too angry to involve your sons in our bonding moment.''
'' Why, what happened?''
'' Did you see the living room?''
'' Don't tell me they left their toys out again after I spoke with them two nights ago. They really want an ass whooping.''
''No don't beat my babies Axel. Just talk to them.''
'' Talk to them? You have tried that has it worked? No and that's the reason they don't listen to you.''
Axel angrily walked away leaving her confused as to what she had done wrong now. She put her daughter in her cot and went into her kitchen to dish for her family. The men in her life walked in from the living room into the dining room and sat around the dinner table.
'' Are you not eating?''
'' No I had a late lunch. I am good for now.''
Axel took a plate and dished up for her before demanding that she sit down and eat. Axel was not a violent or over bearing husband but Ayanda had not been eating well since they oldest daughter was taken and this was the only way to get her to eat.
'' I said I am not hungry.''
She said calmly not trying to alarm the boys. He cleared his throat and gave her a stern look when she tried to walk away. Ayanda sat down at the dinner table with a sigh, she played with her food until Axel reprimanded her.
'' I am not a child Axel. Stop treating me like one.''
'' Stop behaving like one!''
He raised his voice and the boys turned to look at them.
'' I am not hungry. How is that behaving like a child?.''
Axel signalled for the boys to leave the dining area and they obediently left.
'' How are not hungry when the last thing you had was an apple in the morning!?''
Since their daughter was kidnapped the couple have had constant arguments, which caused tension in their relationship. Axel loved his wife but hated that she had to punish herself for what happened. Ayanda's guilt prevented her from eating.
'' Like I said I had a late-''
'' Don't give me that bullshit. You're the one treating me like a child. You think after all these years I don't know you when you're lying. You're breastfeeding and not eating as you should. What kind of mother are you.''
Axel realised how insensitive his words were when it was too late. With tears in her eyes she stood up with their daughter in her arms and hurried upstairs. He brushed his curls back cussing at himself for his words.
