BD2: VIII. Training & Truth

[Third Person POV]

*Next day*

Just outside on a few yards away from the Cullen house. Olivia stood on the side with Carlisle beside her. Emmett and Garrett were also there with them watching as Kate tries to help Bella develop her power. Since they came up with the idea to help her improve on the shielding part, so it would be useful for the possible battle occuring soon.

"You need to visualize it. See how it moves. What color it is. Now picture it expanding. Will it to go beyond you" Kate instructed

Bella tries to focus hard, then slowly a small shimmer escapes from her body slowly passing unto Edward, but she only manages to bring up her shield for moment, and grunted as the shield aura retreated back to her.

"A little motivation would give her the push" Olivia spoke

Kate grins smugly "I agree"

Edward glances at them for a moment and steps forward next to Kate. Bella realizes what was happening.

"No."

"It's all right, I can take it" Edward assures his wife

"He says that now" Garrett crossed his arms in doubt

Emmett grins "Focus, Bella, or he's gonna be hurting"

So Edward starts to put his hand up ready to touch Kate's hand slowly.

Bella exclaims nervously "Edward, I'm not ready to do this yet!" but Kate swiftly touches his hand, sending a painful electric shock through him

"Arghhh!" Edward exclaims

"I'm sorry! I said that I wasn't ready" Bella said watching Edward shaking his own hand

"Dude, you're not motivating her" Emmett said sternly

Edward turns to his brother "You want to try?!" causing Emmett's serious demeanor to drift away as he raised his hands in surrender and backs off

Olivia lets out a small laugh at the two boys arguing, Carlisle smiled in amusement by them before turning to Bella.

"Try to relax, Bella" Carlisle encourages her

And Bella tries again to use her power, the shield aura coming out of her body again, but when Kate touches Edward's nape sending another electric shock through his body, Edward screams in pain. Bella lost her focus and turn to her

"Kate!"

She stopped "You seem to lack incentive. Shall I go see if Renesmee's awake?" Kate feigned to move towards the house

"Are you crazy?" Bella counters furiously

Kate stopped and faces her again "All right. This one's on full power" showing her palm ready for the next touch to Edward

Olivia narrows her eyes, curious on what's gonna happen this time. Edward gives Bella the look of 'You better do it now' a twinge of fear in his eyes.
