Bella and Edward returned back in Forks after spending a few days in Jacksonville to meet Renee, who was Bella's mother.
Edward drove Bella and himself to school, turning to his side of the window staring at the one waiting close to the steps of the school. Edward turned back to Bella
"If I asked you to stay in the car, would you?" Not waiting for a response, he climbed out of the car but Bella followed in suit
"Of course not" he comments under his breath
The two of them walked towards Jacob who was wearing a tight black tee, with oil greased pants laying half of his weight on his motorcycle with crossed arms. Seeing the couple Jacob walks closer to meet them halfway.
"Hey" Bella greeted
Jacob's face remained stoic "Charlie said you left town"
"Yeah, to visit my mom. Why?" she asked
Edward cuts in just after he checked Jacob's mind "He's checking to see if you were still human" finding it amusing
Jacob concentrates on something in his mind making Edward seemed distressed a bit. His eyes glared at the copper haired vampire.
"Look I'm here to warn you," Jacob starts, only for Edward to scoff.
"-if your kind come on our land again, then we could've prevent an accident" Jacob sneered lowly
Bella grew confused with his words, not understanding their exchange of looks "Wait, what?"
Jacob glanced at her obliviousness, he looks back at Edward "You didn't tell her?"
Edward was already glaring at him back "Just leave it alone, Jacob"
Bella pushed "Tell me what?"
"Emmett and Paul had a misunderstanding, Olivia got between them and fractured her arm" Edward explains briefly
"What?" Bella let out a breath in shock of the revelation
"there's nothing to worry about" Edward assures.
Jacob cuts "Listen to you, did you lie to get her out of town too?"
"You should leave. Now" Edward warned
Jacob holds his ground "She has the right to know. Bella and Olivia are the ones the redhead only wants"
Bella filled in the pieces in her mind like a puzzle "Victoria? Alices's vision"
"I was trying to protect you" Edward reasoned
She stared at him in disbelief "By lying to me. Now Olivia got hurt and we're gonna talk about this later, but you..." Bella turned to Jacob catching his gaze
"Why haven't you called me back?"

"I had nothing to say" he shrugs and walked back to his motorcycle
"Well I have tons" Bella called out but Edward grasps her arm stopping her for a moment "Bella, hold on wait".
"Edward, you have to trust me"
"I do trust you, it's him I don't trust" he motioned at Jacob with his head. But Bella ignores and followed Jacob riding behind him on his motorcycle. So they could finally have their talk.
