SCENE: Edwin & his mate

[Edwin's POV]

Few years passed, my family and I still live in Forks, Washington. I already joined highschool as a junior, the people in this county took the lie of me being adopted from Alaska though I am biologically born from Olivia, my real mom. We still had to keep our secret. Now for this time, I wanna explain how I met my mate or my blood singer? Well just like my brother Edward. I found her in school.

At first I didn't know she was my mate. She was a new student in school and in town. Her name is Clara Simms. Since I first saw her, there's been something different with her, her blood and scent suddenly became delicious, intoxicating even. Making me feel thirsty yet at the same time addicted to her.

In a not too bad way

I've never been bloodlust like this for a long time. I've always been able to control my thirst like my father It's just something about her makes it feel all different and exciting.

We slowly became good friends, she gets in with quick with my personality and so I did with hers. Clara was open to a lot of supernatural stuff. But I couldn't tell her my secret of being a hybrid of vampire and warlock. Though some part of me tells me that she knows something of it. But I still kept my mouth shut.

Time passed, Clara and I became bestfriends in school, so did my feelings grew for Clara. My parents noticed the difference with me, especially my mom who can check up my thoughts or Jasper who can pick out any emotions in the room, other than myself

There's really no privacy here. When I asked my parents about the feeling that I'm having, they answered that I might've found my mate. Now my adoptive sisters are being more giggly with me and my adoptive brothers are teasing me endlessly about it.

Clara? She's my mate, but she's human. That was a problem, I became afraid, for the secret that I might brought in with her life. Remembering all the moments I've had with my family. Though my parents, and my brother Edward and his wife Bella, encouraged me to go for it but with careful and easy steps.

I tried distancing myself from Claraat first, but it ended up hurting us both with this mate pull. I had no choice and I couldn't help it, when I finally confessed to her that I'm more than just human, but a warlock and a vampire. To my surprised she didn't run, she didn't scream for help, she didn't call me crazy, or proclaiming something that would end our friendship. Instead she smiled saying

"I was hoping you'd admit it one day."

I was so shock, she knew? Clara admitted to me that she had her suspicions of me, though not really just me but my family too. She admits that she too has a secret to share. If we're going keep our friendship, might as well be vulnerable together. Clara is also a warlock. Her clan of the Simms family made a ring of familiarity to my mother.

Olivia said her father, my dead grandfather was actually from the Danvers clan, he was close to his friend from the Simm clan named Tyler, who was my mother's guardian at times when she was younger.
