The school bell finally rung, indicating it was already lunchtime. Sana was told by the nurse that she was free to go. And so, she hurriedly went to meet Dahyun at their regular meeting place.Dodging the students who were walking out of their classrooms, Sana can't help but to hear the hushed voices of her schoolmates.
"Have you seen the new transferee?"
"I heard she was popular."
"What do you mean? Of course she is! She's the Granddaughter of Governor Chou!"
"Wait, really?"
'The transferee was the Granddaughter of Governor Chou?' Sana stops for a moment, and tries remembering the face of the girl who asked for directions earlier. 'That woman was his Granddaughter?!'
Sana was eventually in panic mode again.
'Oh God,' she thought to herself. 'Please don't tell me we're classmates. She seemed younger than Dahyun.'
Sana shakes her head and proceeded to go back to her classroom where Dahyun must be waiting. And there she was, waiting for Sana, still with a worried look plastered on her face.
"Dubu!" Sana cheerfully hopped her way to hug Dahyun. "Let's eat!"
"Are you feeling better?" Dahyun hugs back like they didn't meet for a long time. "Or you want to go home?"
Sana secretly smiles at the younger's concern. She broke the hug and holds her arm to lead her to the cafeteria. These were one of the days they didn't bring any packed lunch out of panic that they would arrive late.
"I'm feeling better than earlier. Maybe a little amount of food and I should be great." Sana says and lines up with Dahyun to buy some foods.
"What do you mean 'a little amount'? No unnie, you should eat more to replace your so-called-breakfast." Dahyun replies back, pertaining to the popcorn that Sana ate last night.
"But--"
"No buts, unnie." Dahyun didn't let her finish as they were finally at the counter.
Dahyun spent half of her weekly allowance to buy everything she thinks Sana would love to eat. While Sana, she can't protest to the younger, she just let Dahyun do what she wants for the second time this day. As they took the tray of foods to find a vacant seat, Sana once again heard the students talk about the transferee again.
They seemed interested of her. Or just because of her title as the Granddaughter.
"Sana unnie, you're spacing out again," Dahyun sat at the table first, followed by Sana. "Tell me, are you really okay?"
"Yes, I'm okay." Sana pauses for a moment. "Just wondering why everyone is interested about this new transferee." She half lies.
Of course she knew why, but she doesn't have any idea why it is necessary to be the talk-of-the-town just because of her title.
'People are really weird these days.'
"They said that the transferee was Governor Chou's Granddaughter." Dahyun responds.
"And then?"
"What do you mean 'and then'?" The younger was confused.
Sana took a bite of her sandwich before shrugging, "I don't know. She's a student too, like us. No need for special mentions just because she's the Granddaughter, you know?"
Dahyun looks at Sana in the eye, her face was priceless. "Unnie, do you really know who is Governor Chou's Granddaughter?"
"Yes?" Sana answers, but more like, she was asking herself too. "Someone approached me after you left. I think she was asking for the student council's directions so I came up with the idea that she might be the new transferee."
