Or maybe not.
A few moments before Mina opens the door, she accidentally hears the intensity of Tzuyu's voice and her father's own just outside the mansion. She didn't know if it was time to enter the scene without having anything to hold on as a plan, but after listening to her gut feeling (and partly Tzuyu's argument), she chose to stay outside and wait until the timing's finally right.
"...Sana doesn't have anything to do with this, Dad. What happened between me and Nayeon right there was purely made out of stress— mostly about this partnership of yours and her father."
"Stress? In what part of befriending Nayeon had created stress in you?" A sigh escapes the man's lips. "Tzuyu, we already talked about this months prior. Do everything that would make Nayeon happy. If she wanted to do small things such as asking you to take her to the mall, then do it. If she wanted to shop with you, then also do it."
A slight pause was made. "And if she wanted you, then so be it."
"But—"
"It's not a hard thing to do, right?" He cuts her off. "Unless you wanted me to do it the hard way."
"But that's not part of our deal!" Tzuyu raises her voice. "You just asked me to be the bridge of your merging business with her father! And I agreed because you said that you'll finally forget—"
"Change of plans. Just do what I asked you to do, Tzuyu. It's not that hard."
"But you promised, Dad." Tzuyu halts, voice suddenly becoming a whisper. Mina could feel the absolute disappointment in her voice. "Is that really hard for you to forget the past?"
"Tzuyu, I'm not in the mood for talks."
"It's because you're not always in the mood when the topic's on Mom!"
"I said I'm not in the mood!"
A sound of a fragile thing being thrown with force deafens Mina's vulnerable ears. Truth be told, she wasn't expecting for something to break or have her Uncle raise his voice at this unexpected moment.
"I didn't let you come back from Japan just to bring up the past, Tzuyu. Don't ever try me." He hisses. "If only Mina wasn't persistent in bringing you back here, I'm pretty sure you'll never be able to step inside this household again."
Mina could hear how Tzuyu chuckled sarcastically, "you're right. If only Mina didn't me asked to go back in this country, I would've made sure that our paths will never cross again."
Hearing enough information from the two, Mina forcefully swung the door open, revealing Tzuyu and her father who was just equally as mad at each other. She didn't know if the timing to her entrance was now considered to be right, but seeing how they were really close on repeating the inevitable past (just like how Mr. Lim describes it to be), she knew that she made the best choice among all.
"Mina?" The man quickly hides his anger before acting like a calm, goody two-shoes guy. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be on your meeting, right?"
The question made Mina scoff for a little bit. Did he really thought that she would buy his poorly-made act?
"It already ended an hour ago, Uncle. I'm sorry that I forgot to tell you." Mina half-lies, turning her attention to Tzuyu on the right side. "I got a message that— Tzuyu? Your..."
