Dylan

She was sobbing, soaking my shirt. My voice was shaky, but I sang, "You with the sad eyes, don't be discouraged.Oh I realize, it's hard to take courage in a world full of people, you can lose sight of it all. The darkness inside you can make you feel so small."

She sang, her voice magical and melodious stopping me dead in my tracks, "Show me a smile then. Don't be unhappy. Can't remember when I last saw you laughing. This world makes you crazy and you've taken all you can bear. Just call me up 'cause I will always be there." Our voices fits perfectly together, but Delilah's was still my favorite. She looked at me as we sat in silence.

Then, she complimented me, "Your singing isn't that bad, no wonder Delilah had started singing a lot lately, I didn't even know she was such a good singer. Thank you for coming to get me." She was still looking at me intently, her hazel eyes piercing my inner soul. Oh god, I need to leave.

With that, she stood and was about to leave when she said, "Don't tell anyone about this or I'll kill you."

I mocked, "That's big talk, you will regret it."

She laughed, "Says the one who fell head over heels for my best friend only then to ditch her in the end, I have my rights, don't get on my nerves."

Even though her back was turned to me but I knew she was beaming behind. "All right, you win. You might want to make your face a little less of a giveaway." I motioned to my face showing her what I meant. She nodded and left.

Not long after, I headed to the bathroom and washed up, trying to make the redness around my eyes and nose disappear. After trying my best to seem as though no tears were shed, I left.

I jogged over and noticed that Bray was back already, the thing that scared me most was her amazing ability to pretend like nothing happened, the redness around her previously sore eyes were gone, must have been make-up working behind the scenes. She was laughing and joking with the others. She saw me and pointed at me, "See I told you, I was too fast for him! Can you believe he lost to a girl?" I quickly put up an act sensing it was time to be the 'I don't give a damn about life' guy, and I said to Mark, "I'm telling you, she was just trying to pull a trick on me so she could embarrass me like that." Everyone exploded into laughter, and she beamed, and mouthed a 'thank you' to me. I nodded. I guess the gap between us is finally starting to close up.

Brayleigh

I was sipping coconut juice with Dylan by my side, the others had went off surfing while we took care of their belongings. I was actually surprised Mark had let Dylan come after me and had not been the one who came after me. I asked curiously, "What did Mark say to you before you took off for me?" He seemed a little surprised, "Oh nothing much, it was more of me doing the talking, persuading him to let me do the chasing." He smirked.

"So he was going to come after me?"

"I guess he was, and now he owes me for saving his girlfriend, so he has to treat me nicely." I cackled, but changed my expression. "So what do we do about Del?" He shrugged, "I'll try to look for the hair she was talking about, maybe the police will be able to connect it with him."

In the meantime, Mark and the others had taken up a wave and were riding like pros, as usual, Mark was the coolest. I wasn't sure if Dylan had noticed me staring or he was really just looking, but he remarked, "Mark isn't that bad at surfing after all." I smirked triumphantly, "I told you so, and I never lie." We sat in silence until they came back and we swapped over with the others and by the end of the day, we were so worked up we could barely walk for pizza.

Around ten, I reached home.

Mum and dad were having a discussion over dinner. When they saw me, they immediately shut up, so I left them and went upstairs to my room, on the way, I noticed that Carlo's room felt a little too quiet, and I knocked. "Hello?" No reply. "Carlo?" Still no reply. What the heck? I couldn't take it, I pushed open the door.  What scared me most was how Carlo looked like. He looked like a zombie from walking dead, except he was lying mindlessly on his bed his stance not shifting at all. The color drained from his face, eye bags formed below his eyes, and the usual hazel from his eyes were no longer there but replaced by a dull grey orbit, sadness was written all over his face. He looked like a rock.

A voice behind me scared me out of my skin, "Been like that the whole day, don't know what's gotten into him."

I heaved a sigh of relief to find that it was only dad. "Maybe I should talk to him, get him out of bed to eat or something." He looked at me mysteriously, "You sure that's a good idea I mean he does hate y......" He caught the glares I shot him, and changed, "I mean it's worth a try, I just don't want you getting kicked out, it'll be ugly."

I shook my head, "Then don't watch, plus, we're just a family, there isn't any audience and he's still my brother." He nodded, hands in the air as he left. I shook my head and headed in.

I closed the door behind me and headed over to Carlo, "Hey Carl, how's school?" He mumbled. "It was awesome, thanks for not inviting me with you to your beach party." I gasped, "Oh gosh, I am so sorry, I thought you were busy with school." He shifted farther away from me, "Don't even mention school." My eyebrows raised, "What happened?" He groaned, "Nothing much, just small stuff, that will settle tomorrow."

I looked at him, "For a fact, I know you are smarter than everyone in school, and I'm not letting you off that easy." He grumbled, "You'll never get it, let alone know, just go." He didn't shout or anything but I didn't want to push him further, so I stood up and left.

I headed to my room. That was when something caught my attention. Holy shit those hypocrites and their big fat mouths. Mum or Dad must have picked this up on the way home, they always do because I'm always at the front page of it. Sure enough, the front of the TCN magazine page wrote 'Celebrity Brayleigh found at the beach with hot, attractive boyfriend' I smacked my hand on my face and cursed, as I threw the clothes I'm wearing aside in rage. We didn't even plan to make it official, damn, these people really couldn't stop. I turned on my night lamp and went into the bathroom and took a long hot shower.

About an hour later, I made my way to my study table and buried myself deep into my textbooks. A lot of things were going on in my mind and I couldn't seem to focus.

Finally, I decided to look into Instagram.

As usual, about a hundred people newly followed me, and I ignored all of them and updated my story and about two hours into the night, someone texted me. I almost dropped my phone when I saw the contact.
