Last goodbyes

Dylan

It hasn't been easy for any of us this past weekend. The funeral is going to be held on Monday. I had somehow managed to convinced Bray to attend it. Delilah's funeral days hadn't been easy for me, so I understood how much it may have been for Bray, but I'm glad she agreed to go.

Since I was her boyfriend then, I was expected to attend, but I decided not to.

I admit that me and Bray were dating... I guess, depends on her opinion on this. Saying that made me feel kind of amateurish. Bray was barely competent enough to say that, she had been going around telling us we were just friends we made me piss off sometimes. But, arg... she just had to be that doting girl to come after me.

Pays off though, for the many times I had to run after her, but if it was a marathon I had to run to chase her, but still count me in.

"What are ya thinking of, pal?" Levi glanced curiously at me although his eyes were still focused on Sasha. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes and shrugged, "Nothing much, just what has been happening for the past week."

"You wanna know what I'm thinking of right know?" I stared at him, blinking several times before replying, "Oh sure."

"I'm thinking of punching the hell out of that guy." I followed his gaze to a guy who's hands were slithering around the waist of Sasha, looking threateningly at Levi. "Well I think you should go for the head, you know, punch some sense into him?"

"Ye bro, so with you. That idiot is so blind to see that Sasha is clearly inching away from him." I looked at Sasha. To me she just seemed like she trying to sway her hips away from him, but I swat away the urge to laugh and suggested, "Maybe you should get over there before it gets too erm... ugly?" It took only half of my sentence before he was striding across the room. I already knew how it was going to end by the looks of it, so I lost interest easily and looked away.

My phone rang but seemed like it was on silent mode because of the ridiculously loud music, but the vibration was undeniably annoying if I was going to have to use the table without any ticklish feeling. I picked it up and smiled at the caller ID.

"Well, well, well. Now look who decided she missed me too much." I replied the call.

"Oh shut up, will you Dylan?" Bray fired back.

"What's so important?"

"The funeral is so important."

"Oh damn, does the decorations timing start now." I tease her.

"What--- decorations? This is not a wedding, you idiot." She replied irritated by my cheery character, I guess, but I can't help it.

"Okay. I want to ask you a question......" I started but trailed off. "forget it, I'm coming over."

"Thanks, this means a lot to me."

"I hope it means lesser than me." She didn't even reply, just called off the call.

We have been over this several times already. No matter how many times she has asked me to help her forget, it was always still the same.

It is going to be hard for her to hide the fact that Mark was still her number one. I mean technically he may always be, but you can't blame me for being jealous either. Let alone blame her for losing a number one. I was aware she is using me as some sort of distraction and consolation for her parents. Couldn't relate more, she was once mine too, I guess, Emily was a distraction from Bray, but now I found it hard to use Emily as a distraction, it felt wrong, so I minimized my contact with her, she seem to have noticed that and avoided me too.
