I had no idea what was stopping me to react, she was just an old friend whom I used to joke around with. What is making me so nervous then? I realized I haven't said anything yet, and decided to go with a short and sweet, "Hey, how are you?" She stuttered a little, "I... I'm feeling fine, come on! Why is everyone treating me like I just revived from the dead?" I was speechless, so I waited for someone to say something, but no one did.
Suddenly, Mark roared into laughter. "Is that a joke? Damn Bray, you suck at it!" I wasn't quite sure if she took it as an offence, but in the end, she was clutching her stomach and laughing while the others stared in silence before joining in. I smiled along. I seriously missed my old gang, now I wasn't even sure if I was considered their gang mate.
Then, Brayleigh shot me a smile, "Feel free to use my board, I'm going to sit out, but FYI, the waves are ferocious, if you want to survive you're going to have to beat my best surf bud." She nodded at Mark and shot him a cute wink. Something about the way she mentioned Mark sent a flush of jealousy and I was determined to impress her more than Mark did. "You can count on me for that! I'm going to kick some ass!" The girls chuckled and Theresa looked at me, "Come on, B. You're not gonna wanna miss those hot muscles working." Emily nodded, "You bet."
Brayleigh
Helena had pulled us over to a sweet spot where the sun was not shining directly on our light skin, and the view was perfect to watch others surf, but Theresa wasn't here to stay, as soon as we settled down, she was back in the sun.
Theresa was the only one who preferred the sun to shade but her skin wasn't as tanned as many expected.
When someone asked her how her skin manages to look so pale, she'd reply "What the hell do you expect? You want me to be black? I think that's so damn offensive!"
Theresa had already taken her surf board and announced, "No way I'm going to sit here and wait for them to entertain me, I am going to entertain all of you, watch closely to these sexy hips, they never lie." She winked before rotating her waists in a flexible manner, stretching backwards to form a bridge, flexing her abs and core muscles.
No doubt, she was one of the most flexible ballet dancers in school, also one of the most flirtatious girls in town, boys love her adorable and funny character, and she was the girl who can crack a joke in the worst situation.
I watched the boys back as they headed towards the shore. I was beginning to think about college.
It was only a matter of months before mum and dad would apply me into one of the best colleges America has to offer. I was still thinking of my future career. I was practically rich enough to raise Carlo as my own child and maybe own a herd of cattle, horses and sheep. How much more money do they want me to earn?
They are literally workaholics, but not me. I'm just taking the college for our family's reputation and for the sake of their wealth. If I could choose, hell with college. I can't imagine having to leave my gang behind. It's going to be so heartbreaking, but that thought was soon pushed to the back of my head.
I recalled the first time we had encountered. It happened in school. I remembered shunning away from everyone. Until I met... Delilah. She had introduced me to Mark and Dylan who had been best buddies since the start of school.
I was actually surprised those two now acts like they had just met each other for the first time, but they would soon catch up with each other's and their friendship will repair, hopefully stronger than before.
After, I met Theresa, Ems and Helena. They were sitting in a corner and were chatting with each other and Ems first caught sight of me. She had waved me over, and had gotten me worried when she told us I reminded her of someone, I had used Paul as a distraction and we ended up eating together, one huge group.
They soon gained my trust and I began to expose more of myself, but not long after, people started to figure I was no ordinary girl. After Carlo joined high school, me and my family became a hot topic in school. Everyone wanted to know more about us, the whole of Hawaii too, and we became famous again...... I sighed at the memory as the boys stepped into the water, by attention was pulled back to the present and I lay back.
Should Brayleigh go to college? Will she go? HA HA that's up to me oops. Extremely sorry for the short story update, but I promise I'll make up for it!!
