Sherlock Holmes was a boy like no other. Ever since he was little he had been extremely clever and been able to do weird things. Magical things. He had lived his first 10 years believing he was a freak, and that he would never fit in. As a child, he had had no friends, and the only people he associated with were the bullies. And his whole class were bullies- at least to him. Even the teachers didn't like him. In fact, whenever he told them about his problems, they had ignored him. So much for respecting your teachers.

It also didn't help that he was blatantly rude to people. He was clever, extremely clever, but many people didn't see his gift as a good thing. When he would ask people why their parents had been fighting, little girls and boys who hadn't told anyone about their family life seemed to get a bit worried. And more than a little scared.

So that was why Sherlock had no friends. But then he had met John Watson.

John Watson was a boy his age who's parents were magical. And suddenly, a lot of things in his life began to make sense. He had learnt so much about the magical world with John, and there was so much more happiness in school life once he knew. He wasn't a freak- just different. And John even liked Sherlocks deductions- especially when he was able to tell John that his father was in the war. They  shared every secret- mainly because Sherlock could figure out what it was anyway.

John had taken Sherlock to diagon Alley, and Sherlock had bought a copy of nearly every book in Flourish and Blotts. His uncle (who Sherlock hadn't known) had passed away a few months ago. Apparently he had been a wizard, and left all of his money to the next wizard in his family. Ne was extremely wealthy now, and sherlock loved knowing something that his brother didn't.

He had waited to tell his parents until he got his Hogwarts letter- John had explained to him about his school. His parents didn't like the idea at first, but when he explained how happy he had been since meeting John, they had given in. Suprisingly, his older brother Mycroft had been sad to see him leave, but let him set off despite that. And that is where they were right now- on the Hogwarts express nearly at the castle.

As the train pulled into the station, the two excited boys got off it into a boat. As it was four people to a boat, they paired up with another two people who introduced themselves as Hermione Granger and Annabeth Chase. The girls seemed to be very excited at this new world, and Sherlock immediately deduced that Annabeth was a half-blood wizard and Hermione a muggle born. This would explain why Hermione was so excited.

His first sight of Hogwarts was something he wasn't going to forget. Sherlock wasn't one for sentimental things, but he felt a shiver go down his spine at this magical moment. It felt like a part of him was finally complete. Just then, a tall man (obviously a half-giant, Sherlock could deduce that easily) who had led them down was now telling them to get out.

Entering the castle, Sherlock stood in a group of first years. He wasn't particularly nervous -though this wasn't just because he didn't get nervous. He felt sure that he'd be in Ravenclaw as it was the only logical option to him where he wouldn't be bullied for doing his 'deductions'. He would beg if he had to, but he would rather leave than be bullied here.

As these thoughts were going through his head, the doors to the great hall opened and the first years entered...
