When Hazel woke up and went downstairs, she noticed that a group of second years were looking very sad and talking quietly amongst themselves. Wondering what it was about, she asked them if they were ok. They looked at her, annoyed and replied.
"We're Ok. But Susan isn't, thanks to your friend Watson". They went on to explain about why they said that, and how John had been there both times. Hazel was confused as to what they meant, because she knew John and he wouldn't hurt anyone. Would he? Out of all of her friends, she didn't seem to know John as well as the others... But what was she thinking, he couldn't have done it! He was nice, and Sherlock trusted him. Sherlock only trusted certain people, and he wouldn't trust someone who had hurt anyone.
"It can't be him, he wouldn't hurt a fly!" She told them, annoyed. When they smirked at her, she walked away to tell her other friends, who were sure to believe her. But when she told Peeta, he seemed to be a bit vague in reassuring her that he didn't believe that John was the culprit. Gus automatically agreed with her, but Tobias thought that it was a bit coincidental that John had been found there twice next to a victim. Hazel sighed, and went to go and find John herself. It was breakfast time, so she headed to the most logical place, the great hall.
As she entered the room, she saw John at his table, next to Sherlock, Hermione and Annabeth. They seemed to be a bit sad, and no one was sitting next to them. Hazel happily filled in the gap, as it was breakfast and they could sit where they liked. She smiled at John before bursting out.
"I know it wasn't you. You are too nice to harm people, and too clever to be found at the scene even if it was you!" SHe told him. John smiled in relief, and Sherlock muttered in his deep voice.
"Finally some sanity. These two think that it was John, though they may deny it." He flashed them an angry look and turned back to his food, which he was miraculously eating.
"I'm not saying it was John, I'm just saying that it happening twice is a bit-" Hermione began flustered. But Sherlock cut her off.
"Fidgetting with your fingers and the napkin on the table, keep on jerking your haid and shifting your eyes, unwillingness to speak, taking a long time thinking about what you are going to say, shuffling feet, blinking too often, trying to change the subject, giving way too much information, I mean, isn't it obviously. Your body language says it all. Now come on John, lets leave them here. You can come too if you want, Hazel." With that they went out of the hall on the way to the library. Hazel followed, and grabbed Gus as he entered. Seeing them leave, Harry and Katniss followed, but Tris and Percy looked at them (John in particular) with hints of disgust on their faces.
When the arrived, Harry began to speak. "We don't think you did anything. There's no real proof, and I trust you John. The others are talking about coincidences, but really, they're stupid to think of it as a possibility" He explained. John smiled and thanked them, as well as Augustus.
"I just don't like everyone looking at me like a murderer. We need to find the proper attacker and clear my name." John said to them.
"Luckily for you, you have me as a friend. The one person who could work out something like this quickly. I've been doing some research, and the victims have been taken to St.Mungos for the time being. We'll have to wait for another victim to appear before I can get another look at them"
"I wouldn't be surprised if they were being immobilised by Sherlock's massive ego!" Katniss joked, to try to lighten the mood. They all laughed and the mood did lighten. She was sure that the others would believe them soon.
A/N So, I've got something planned for the book at last- I know how its going to end! I know! Shocking, if you know how I write. I usually write first and think after, which somehow never does too well for my stories... Anyway, next xhapter has some lessons, bits of Quidditch practice because the chapter after that will be Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw! I'm only going to write GvsR, GvsH and HvsR. If anyone has any preferance for which house wins the cup or house points, please say as I don't! I'm not going to do a corny 'oh were all tied everyone wins yay' cause that bores me.
