A week had flown past quite quickly, and the new first years were starting to get used to their daily routine. Lessons were starting to get harder than the first few lessons, but within the 12 of them, there was at least one person who was good at a lesson and they helped the others with homework for everyone else. John, though not being too clever, was trying very hard and keeping up with most of the other Ravenclaws, as the sorting hat had told him. John had found that he had a skill at herbology more than anything else, which surprised him more than anyone else. As he was setting off for breakfast with his Ravenclaw friends, he suddenly got a bad feeling about the next corridor.

As they turned a corner, they saw the body. A Hufflepuff boy was floating high above the ground upside down, his mouth and eyes both wide open in shock. John froze at the sight. He heard Hermione scream from behind him and he turned around to look at her. Annabeth was frozen in shock too, but Sherlock hadn't responded. He was looking at the boy with an intrested look in his eyes, and walked up to it.

"Sherlock!" John hissed. "We need to go get a teacher. DON'T TOUCH HIM!" He shouted as Sherlock reached out a hand. He didn't want Sherlock to join him floating in the corridor, so he quickly told Hermione and Annabeth to go and get someone.

"Fascinating" Sherlock muttered from beside the boy. "6th year, pureblood, average size, rich family." He began to deduce. "Seems to have been hit by a type of curse. Probably dark magic" He concluded. John tried to drag him away and only suceeded when a teacher came around the corridor and told them to stand back. Profesesor McGonigal inspected the body and levitated it away to the hospital wing, telling Sherlock, John, Annabeth and Hermione to stay put as she needed information.

When she arrived back, Sherlock was deep in thought and had to be snapped out of his thoughts by John. "Yes, Jamie Crouch, 6th year Hufflepuff, attacked by a dark magic curse, by presumably someone in this castle. Couldn't find out more, Professor, as John warned me not to touch him. Probably a good thing too." He said quickly.

"I was only asking if you were alright!" She exclaimed. Sherlock looked embarassed to the floor. "But thank you for that, Madam Pomfrey isn't sure what happened to the boy, and that will shorten her search by a large amount. However," She continued, looking a bit sad, "She doesn't believe that they will wake up without the person who did this undoing it." She changed her look into a stern one again as she realised that it was time for lessons again. Telling the four kids to get to their classes, she left to go to the Headmasters office.

They set of for DADA and apoligised to Professor Lupin for being late. He didn't punish them when he had heard what had happened. Throughout the lesson, Sherlock found it hard to concentrate as his mind was on other things. The kind teacher let them off when he caught him daydreaming, as he thought he must eb in shock (yeah, likely!).

"I've got it!" He shouted to John as they left the classroom after an uneventful lesson. "What the victim was missing!" John looked confused. Was the victim missing anything at all?

"What was it, Sherlock?" He asked him, obviously confused. Sherlock beamed at him, like a proud little boy.

"A lock of hair. He was missing a bit of hair at the back of his head." He said before storming off to the common room dramatically.

"He likes to do that." John explained to the other six people who were looking at him in confusion. "He's a very dramatic person"

A/N I've posted 3 chapters in 2 days and that makes me happy :-) Thanks to everyone for reading, anyone got any ideas about the murder? Ooh, I think most people will be able to predict it though. I'm not very good at things like this. :-(

Till next time
