Chapter 23

That week, John Watson felt that Sherlock was on edge. Durinng potions, Sherlock refused to look at anyone and wouldn't respond to John, no matter what ha said. Luckily he had 'woken up' by the end of the lesson, and was able to go out normally. There was an odd quiet in the school, as students were getting increasingly worried about the attacker and where they would strike next. Sherlock was muttering something to himself about the attacker 'not needing to wait because he has the three most important people in the ministry'. John also thought that this was a bit weird, as none of the other major ministry workers had children here. So why wasn't the person behind all of this doing something to get the ministry workers.

Who else was important enough and clever enough to possibly get in the way of their plans? And who would they need to take to blackmail them? (A/N Foreshaddowing much? (;  )

They had all began to move in groups along the corridors, in the hope that that would make them less vunerable. John was, secretely, happy about this, as he knew that Sherlock could just stop in the middle of a corridor and think for hours, leaving him as an easy target. As much as Sherlock hated saying it out loud, he needed someone who was able to keep an eye on him at all times. So that meant that someone had to accompany him to Quiddditch training once a week and, usually, stay to watch, something that no one was too eager to do. Luckily the weather was getting warmer as it was beginning to go into the spring term.

One defence against the dark arts lesson, Professor Lupin was telling them to revise all that they had learnt, as their end of year exams were happening in 3 weeks time. Everyone groaned as they realised that time had played its usual tricks and was speeding up against their will. Hermione was looking very worried and stressed, so Sherlock went over to see what was the matter. He looked her up and down, deducing her from what she looked like. Then he chuckled.

"Hermione, you won't be kicked out of Hogwarts even if you do really badly in your tests. The worst they do is keep you down a year, and though that is embarrasing..." He told her. However, she didn't find that completely reassuring, and looked even more worried. "Look, I *cough* found out something about it. They don't base wether your going up or down a year on just your tests, what if someone has a bad day or something. They base it on your school work as well. And you of all people don't need to worry about that." He finished, before returning to his practise with John.

As they walked out of class, John remembered that they had Quidditch practice. He sighed, and went off with Hermione. However, she really wanted to get back to her revising, so John said that she could go back. She was very dubious at first, but when she saw that it was raining really hard, she agreed, not wanting to have to wait in the stand in the downpour. Ravenclaw had a disapointing practice in the cold, and weren't playing very well. Once the dismall practice was over, John was in a bad mood, and forgot to wait for someone else to go back to the common room with.

John walked down the corridor alone, when he turned a corner and saw a person opposite him. They smiled at him, sending shivers down his spine, before whipping out their wand and muttering a spell that John couldn't hear.

Then the world went black.

Sherlock was sitting in the common room, thinking over some things in his head. He soon lost himself to his mind palace, twisting and turning through information he had stored. Suddenly, something woke him up from his thinking. And that never happened. He immidiately knew what had happened. He looked up and over at Hermione and Annabeth and saw their faces, straight up and looking at him in shock. They had felt it too. Sherlock looked down at his writs to see who it was.

"John. He's in danger."

A/N Hey! So yeah, this where things really start to heat up! Next chapter you find out who it is who has done this, and everyone is worried about John. You find out the true reasonning and plan the chapter after that, then there is only about 5 chapters left! IKR! It's gone so quickly. Like I said last time, any ideas for a sequel and I'll write one but until then, maybe not. We'll have to wait and see. Anyway, I was surprised by two new followers today, makes me happy :) Thanks guys! Keep voting as ever!

Till next time
