They players sat on their brooms in a circle, ready to start the match, and Madam Hooch finally blew her whistle and the game began. A Ravenclaw grabbed the quaffel and streaked towards the goal post. She passed to John, who pretended to aim but in actual fact passed to the one of the other chasers instead, who shot at the confused keeper and scored. John clapped his chilly hands (even through his warming charm!) And flew back out to mark Tris, his partner chaser. She frowned at him as she still thought it was him who had attacked the students, and they flew back around the field. Tris managed to dodge out of the way and was flying to the goals... But a bludger aimed for her made her veer off corse and Ravenclaw had possession.
The ball was passed to John and he flew towards the posts, pretending to shoot but bringing it back to shoot in the opposite posts instead. He was extatic! He high-fived his team mate as he flew back around. A few passes later, and Gryffindor had scored their first goal, and then it was back in Ravenclaws posession. Another chaser shot and scored, making it 30-10! The quaffel was passed about for a while, and then John got it near the goals again! He was about to shoot, when Tris came up to him and elbowed the ball out of his hands and hit his nose in the process. She looked up at him, shocked at what she had done, and flew over to him.
The crowds were booing as they both flew down to the floor to get his nose looked at quickly. Tris started to appoligise really quickly. "I'm so sorry, I don't know what came over me! I didn't mean to, really!" John looked up and saw Ravenclaw score the penalty they had been gived. As a medi-wizard fixed his nose, he replied.
"Now's not really the time, Tris" He told her, annoyed, and flew back into the air. He immediately was passed to and went up to the goal and hurled it in, his anger making him throw it really fast. It scored, in the top right of the center hoop! He cheered up a bit at this, and wasn't too resentful once Tris scored her first. A couple of Ravenclaw goals later, and he spotted the two seekers flying towards a golden blur. He groaned as Harry reached the snitch first and ended the game.
170-60 was the end score. He and his team flew down to go into the changing rooms, his face still a bit bloody from where it had been almost broken. As he finished changing into his normal school robes, Tris ran into the room, followed by Tobius, Percy, Annabeth and Peeta. They all looked guiltly to the floor, apart from Tris who ran up to him and wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug.
"I'm so so so so so sorry for hurting you John!" She brawled, almost in tears. "We won the game because of Harry, but you should've won, you were a miles better chaser than I could ever be. Also, please forgive me for being so rude to you these past few weeks, I was so wrong to think that it was you! Please John, will you forgive me... All of us?" She looked up at him and John could see tears in her eyes. The others behind her looked hopeful too.
"Of corse" He replied calmly, "So long as you really mean it, all of you. I just can't stand the was people look at me and ignore me, especially in higher years. It's bad enough being a first year, but with this too..." He trailed off and everyone looked happy. At this point, all of their other friends entered, congratulating Tris and Harry and telling John how good his goals were. Everyone looked happy that everyone was forgiven, even Sherlock. Although, he was still annoyed at Tris for basically breaking Johns nose. The blood had been washed off, and they all went to the library to catch up on the past few weeks that they had missed from each other. All was good.
For the time being, thought a shaddowy figure from behind a bookcase near the others...
