"Where are we going?" I mumbled.

Col didn't answer. Instead, he opened a door and pulled me inside.
The door closed behind us, and the lights flickered on.

I realized that the room was a garden house. The lights were dimmed to a certain level to help the plants grow.

Potted plants lined tables. Some of the plants were set on the floor. Their green leaves and stems snakes up the walls, trying to reach the source of light.

I brushed the dew-covered leaf of a plant that was close to me. I then looked back and saw that Col was watching me.

"Why did you bring me here?"

His eyes shifted down to the floor before they turned back up to meet mine. "I wanted to discuss something with you."

I remembered what happened last night. I narrowed my eyes at him before I began to approach him slowly.

"Yeah? Well, I want to discuss something with you, too." I noticed that my voice sounded a bit cold, but I didn't care.

He looked at me, expectantly.

"What happened last night? What did you do to me?"

"What do you mea-"

"I mean: what did you do to me? One moment I was hiding. The next I was with you. The next thing I know I'm passing out in your arms."

"Airlia, you were tired and-"

I shook my head vigorously. "Don't give me that. I know the difference between being tired and passing out by force. What did you do to me?!"

Col sighed. "I drugged you."

My jaw began to clench. My body started shaking from anger and fear.

"You drugged me, and you handed me over to them? You handed me over to Adam?! You promised me!" I screamed as I began throwing hits as his chest.

I could feel a tear rolling down my cheek, but I wiped it away. Col handed me unconscious over to Adam. The one person that wanted to do heavens only knew to me.

Col's face twisted into disgust and disbelief.

"You actually think I would let that swine touch you?! Crying out loud, Airlia! I drugged you in order to get you out of there. Do you honestly think Adamion would let you go if you were conscious? Or any vampire for that matter. You were the only one that wasn't caught."

I blinked as my eyes widened.

"I promised you I wouldn't let him have you," he muttered as he moved to lean against a railing that overlooked the forest.

"Oh," I said.

It was quiet for awhile after that. I didn't approach Col because I knew he was frustrated. And when he was frustrated, it wasn't a good idea to talk to him.

When it seemed like he had calmed down a bit, I slowly made my way to stand beside him.

"I'm sorry. Thank you for doing that," I whispered.

Col didn't look at me. He kept his eyes straight ahead before releasing a sigh.

"It's fine," he said.

"So, what did you want to discuss?" I asked.

He finally pushed himself away from the rail and looked down at me.
