Throughout the night... or day (I wasn't sure what time of day it was anymore), I kept waking up and blacking out repeatedly. When I woke again, I was extremely groggy. I didn't want to open my eyes. I just wanted to pass out again.
I heard someone shuffling around somewhere in the room. My eyes peeled open, and I searched the room around me. It was pitch black. My eyes somehow managed to adjust eventually. I could only make out a few things. One thing I knew for certain was that this was definitely not my room. Where was I, though?
I glanced around until my eyes fell on a figure. The figure was very tall and built-looking. Besides this, I couldn't make out anymore features of the figure.
In a blink of an eye, the person was towering over where I was laying. I peered up at what I assumed was the person's face.
"Wh-who are you?" I managed to croak out.
The silence was the only response. I could feel the person's presence. They were closer. I swallowed, gazing up at the featureless figure.
I slowly raised my hand until I felt the smooth skin of the person hovering over my bed. This small action not only shocked me but the figure, as well.
The next thing I knew, I could no longer feel the skin of the person. Instead, I only brushed air. With the empty feeling also came drowsiness because I passed out once more.
.................................
"Airlia... Airlia?"
The familiar voice kept calling to me. I didn't want to wake up. I didn't want to be pulled out of my lovely slumber. The voice in my head that kept telling me to get out of bed said differently. I was already awake; there was no way that I could go back into the same sleep that I was just in.
With a sigh that was mixed into a yawn, I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes before opening my eyes. Gathered around my bed were Mai, Grayson, Will, and Melody. Mai and Melody looked relieved as they watched me sluggishly move to a sitting position.
"Were you guys watching me while I was sleeping?" I muttered as I yawned again.
All four of them chuckled as their expressions seemed to relax more.
Mai took my hand. "We were worried about you after the way that watcher found you..."
Everything came rushing back to me from the bonfire. My heart picked up its pace at the metion of 'watcher.' I cut Mai off.
"Wait, watcher? Which one? Where- how did he find me?"
Mai's brows knitted together in confusion. "You don't remember?"
I shook my head. "I remember passing out... but after that, nothing."
Mai hesitated a moment. "There was a watcher with dark hair. He got us out of the attack at the bonfire. He said he was going to bring us to you, but we couldn't find you. That's when he ordered us to return to our rooms before he began looking for you."
Col...
"We didn't find you until yesterday, the day after the bonfire. We were all in my room when we heard back from the watcher. He found you sleeping on one of the lounges in a sitting room. You weren't there before, and we're not sure how you got there. I'm just happy no one else found you." She shivered at the thought.
