Maddox immediately jumped away when he saw Trois jumped at him with his arm covered with electricity. Pagkalapag niya sa lupa ay tinitigan niya ang binata. He cut off his left leg to stop him from harming the unconscious woman. His blood is dripping on the ground as his one effective arm is guarding the girl. Masama rin ang titig nito sa kanya. His eyes look like a beast's as he grit his teeth. Maddox can feel his bloodlust and he seem like a different person.
"Trois!" sigaw ni Shane sa pangalan nito at hindi makapaniwalang nakatingin sa dumudugong hita nito. His hands clenched as he hold onto Sinbad who's unconscious as well. Are you an idiot..?!
Nanatili lamang nakatitig si Maddox sa binata. Trois is crouching down on the ground. Tumingin naman si Maddox sa mukha ng dalaga ngunit mabilis na humarang si Trois sa linya ng kaniyang paningin. Muli niyang ibinalik ang kaniyang paningin sa mukha ng binata. He looks so determined to lay down his life on the table just to protect the girl from harm. When you look at Trois' eyes, you can see a very wild and angered monster and yet that monster is willing to risk his life to protect someone. A loyal beast.
Maddox then sighed and sheathed his sword but Trois didn't put his guard down. Maddox stared directly at his eyes, "You are beyond saving, young man. I just hope that your loyalty won't be wasted on a Hevrion like herself." ngunit hindi nagsalita ang binata. His pure instincts are taking over him. Maddox's stoic face didn't falter, "May I know your name?" pero hindi nagsalita ang binata.
Maddox turned his back when he didn't receive any answer. He already knew that Trois is being swallowed by his instincts right now and that means his mind is slowly fading into the darkness. He started walking away, "Don't burn yourself, kid."
Sinundan naman nila ito ng tingin. Shane can't help but to feel relieved. The man has no interests in taking Zai any longer, he could see that. He'll also take his leave. Noong dumaan ito sa kanilang pwesto ay nagsalita si Shane. He was hesitating but he eventually told him the answer to his question. He felt as if he needed to. "H-His name is Trois Oxen."
Maddox stopped but he didn't glanced at Shane. Maddox slightly nodded, "Thank you." saad nito at nagpatuloy na sa paglalakad. Shane can't help but to stare at the man's back. He changed all of sudden and it seems it was because of what Trois did.
Nagsidatingan naman ang mga kawal at maski ang hari. Humarang ang mga ito sa daanan ni Maddox ngunit nagpatuloy lamang sa paglalakad ang lalaki. Phrim squinted his eyes at him, "Maddox--"
"The kingdom has become too carefree. This is not the Easternia that I knew. You'll face more powerful opponents than me and you need to prepare this kingdom before it happens. Unlike me, the Hevrions are being controlled by Shaera and they cannot move on their own free will. I trust that you'll protect this kingdom, current king." Maddox said with dignity as he stand with great and intimidating posture. He looked so majestic and dignified.
The king was surprised with how he acted but his mind eventually learned to accept it. Phrim pursed his lips then he bowed his head. "Yes, your majesty."
Tumigil naman si Maddox sa gilid ng hari ngunit hindi niya ito binigyan ng kahit isang tingin. Maddox talked once more, "Don't rely too much on the gods." saad nito at bigla na lamang naglaho kasama ang kasama nitong mga hyena. He only left a strong wind behind.
Naging tahimik ang lugar pagkatapos no'n. Trois' body calmed down and his head began to ache. Lumabo ang paningin nito at bumagsak na lamang sa lupa sa tabi ni Zai. Shane looked at Trois when he heard him fall.
His eyes are filled with worry as he stare at Trois' body. Nakahinga lamang siya ng maluwag noong makitang humihinga pa ito ngunit kailangan na niya itong bigyan ng first aid kung hindi ay lalala ang kondisyon nito dahil sa dami ng dugo na kaniyang nawawala. But he can't leave Sinbad as well. His condition is also bad.
