A grin formed on Shaera's lips as she let out a low chuckle with her mischievous honeyed voice. She has her hands raised as she watch the whole capital from the elevated ground where the palace stands.
Nakatayo siya sa tuktok lamang ng hagdan na patungo sa tarangkahan ng malaking palasyo. Kitang-kita niya rito ang kapitolyo na kasalukuyang napapalibutan ng gulo. There's fire in some streets, demons, dead bodies, blood, and the screaming citizens who are filled with fear as they try to run for their lives.
Those scenes are filling the whole place that was formerly known as the most prosperous city of all. Now it's nothing more but a large piece of land that's serving as the battlefield.
Her eyes squinted in pleasure as the side of her lips lift higher. "Ah.. this is indeed the nicest view."
But all of a sudden, her view of the city was blocked when someone suddenly jumped from below. The newly arrived guest casted a shadow over her as the guest's body remains in midair. The guest's tied hair is swaying with the wind as well as her ruffling clothes. There's an excited grin on her face and her eyes are widen with thirst for a fight. Her right hand is just above her left shoulder, crossing over her chest while holding her sword, indicating that she's ready to fully swing her blade any time.
Shaera's grin turned into a smirk, "I've been waiting, you pesky brat."
Zai swung her sword but it was blocked by a metal that suddenly rose from the ground. Zai returned her smirk, "Nice meeting you, sh*thead."
Zai kicked the metal and used that as her foothold for her to backflip, causing for her body to descend some stairs midair. When her foot landed on one stair, she immediately bent her knee and her body blasted upwards. Creating a huge pressure and force like a human size bullet.
She swung her sword again but just like before, it was blocked by a metal. Shaera grinned but her eyes widen when Zai grabbed the neckline of her dress and pulled her. She groaned when her nose directly hit the girl's head. The side of Zai's lips raised. This woman..
Zai swept Shaera's foot off the ground then she threw her away with all her strength. Shaera clenched her teeth tightly as her body fly away. She flicked her arm to her side and her body was suddenly stopped by a force on her back before she hits the pillar of the gates but her eyes widen when she saw a blade already coming to her direction.
Mabilis niyang iniwas ang kaniyang ulo sa gilid at narinig naman niya ang pagbaon ng espada sa sementong nasa likod niya. She glanced at the sword's hilt and her eyes widen with what she saw as a sly smile appear on her lips.
"See something fancy?"
Nanlaki ang kaniyang mga mata at muli niyang ibinalik ang kaniyang tingin sa kaniyang harapan but it was too late when Zai suddenly grabbed her face, gripping it tightly, then she slammed her head into the cement without sparing any second. She put all her weight on it by keeping her body low and stepping her dominant foot forward.
The cement cracked and a crater appeared on it. Shaera's head dug into the hard concrete. Zai pulled her sword from the wall and raised it to slice her up but her eyes sharpened when the air surrounding them changed. Instead of continuing her motion, she jumped away. Her shoes created a friction on the floor as she takes her stance.
Barron smiled, "She has good intuitions," he then gave Alexander, who suddenly appeared, a sideways glance, "You raised her well."
Alexander just glanced at him then he eventually looked back at the scene while his hands are in the pockets of his labcoat. Silence ruled the space between them as the gentle cold wind continued to blow.
