I Could Get Used To This

Your first week with the Driver's was amazing. You had a steady schedule of 8am-6pm. Taking the train and bus to get to Brooklyn Heights would leave you waking up at 4 am to get there on time, so you opted to just drive everyday, it was quicker and you didn't mind not having to rely on train schedules.

Your day went as follows:

8am- Make Connor breakfast. If Adam and Joanne weren't in a rush to head out, you'd make some for them as well.

9am- Do some activities with Connor to work on his fine motor skills.

11am- Free play

12pm-3pm- Snack then nap time. Connor was the best at going down for a nap. He was never fussy, and usually didn't stay awake for too long once he was put down. During that time you'd do laundry, some light chores and make some more lesson plans for Connor. Occasionally Adam or Joanne would text you to see how you and Connor were doing. It was so cute how much they cared, you had seen a lot of uninvolved parents when you were doing your internships at schools. They often didn't care how their kids were doing or how they could help. It was nice that Adam and Joanne cared so much. They were great parents and an even greater couple.

3pm- Wake Connor up, let him watch educational age appropriate shows or videos about alphabets, numbers, colors, etc. Start prepping what you're going to make for dinner.

4pm- Start cooking dinner. The Driver's were not picky about whatever you made, they preferred healthy foods for Connor, but were happy and grateful for anything. They'd have you make a list of whatever groceries you'd need for the week and have it ordered to the house so that you wouldn't have to drag Connor around the supermarket and lug groceries inside. Tonight you were making Chicken Francese with some broccoli and mashed potatoes. Connor particularly loved the mashed potatoes because he could stick his hands in it and play with it while he ate.

5pm- Dinner time! Adam and Joanne were usually home by 5, 5:30 the latest. They would text if they were running late and just say to eat without them or leave it in the fridge and they'll reheat it.

6pm- Cleanup, head home.

You honestly hated leaving their home everyday. As much as you loved going home to your own bed, your own quiet, you loved being with Connor and talking with Adam and Joanne. They were such nice people and you felt so grateful they'd give you this opportunity.

When you got home you called your parents about your day, they were so delighted you found a job you loved and made you happy. When you hung up with them, you decided to do some research on Adam and Joanne. You knew they were some level of famous, but hadn't heard of them before.

Google search: Adam Driver.

Oh. my. god.

He was not just famous, he was really famous. His google search had a bunch of movies like Star Wars, an HBO show. This was crazy! He seemed so modest and humble despite the fact that he's a huge celebrity.

You found yourself feeling relieved he wasn't a douche celebrity that would write you off and only cared about money and fame. He was truly so kind, helpful and down to earth.

You envied Joanne, although she was an angel and they deserved each other, you wished you had your own Adam to love you and have a family with.

You went to bed feeling sad, but happy that tomorrow was Friday and you'd have another day with Connor.
