Don't Let Me Go

It was now Friday, the day you'd been dreading because you had plans with your friends. It's not that you didn't want to see them, you did, you loved hanging out with them. But you did not want to have the conversation about your new residence with them.

Joanne had come to pick up Connor early at 2:30, she wanted to spend as much time with him as possible. You hadn't seen much of Adam since your kitchen rendezvous yesterday morning, he'd been busy in his office, but you had not stopped thinking about it. The way he grabbed your body and how you melted into him. His soft lips against yours, he was intoxicating. You hoped that he was thinking about you too.

As you sorted through your closet, you pondered what you were going to wear. It's October, so it's still a little chilly, but not inside the bars, they were always packed with people and it left you sweating. You opted for a red dress that came to mid thigh, black high heeled booties, and a denim jacket. You told your friends you'd meet them at 10 in Williamsburg, but it was only 8:30 so you spent a little extra time on your hair and makeup.

You typically liked to play music loud while you were getting ready and sing along, but Adam's office was next to your room and you didn't want to disturb him. You wanted to invite him out with your friends, but figured he'd probably think it was weird hanging out with a bunch of 25 year olds, so you chose not to.

It was about 9:30, you gathered your wristlet and made your way out of your room. As you left your room, Adam was coming out of his office. He looked you up and down and got a devious smile on his face. He was wearing a black t-shirt and black joggers, the joggers hugged him so well that you could almost see the outline of his dick resting on his thigh. Shit, he's so fucking hot.

ADAM'S POV:

You couldn't believe you kissed her. You prayed she wasn't mad at you, you cowered in your office all day to avoid her, scared that she was mad you kissed her. You didn't want her to reject you, or to quit her position because you did something inappropriate. You knew you shouldn't have done that, she's your son's Nanny, theres no way in hell that she'd want a romantic soiree with you. But then again, she did seem to enjoy it...but you couldn't be sure. You would have to talk to her at some point, and make sure she's comfortable. The last thing you want is her to think you're taking advantage of her. You care about her so deeply, she's amazing. Without her, it would have been impossible to get through this divorce with Joanne and having to watch Connor alone.

She was your saving grace. You needed her. Wanted her.

You decided you should probably come out of your room now, you'd assumed she'd left to go meet with her friends already. Part of you wanted to go to protect her, but you couldn't risk being out seen with her by the paparazzi. You had worked too hard to keep this separation under the radar, you out at a bar with a sexy 25 year old would not be inconspicuous.

As you came out of your office she came out of her room. She was wearing this tight red dress, and denim jacket which was hanging off of one shoulder, and these heels that brought her level to my chest. She looked hot. You envied all the men that would get to see her tonight, but you knew you had no right to say anything about her life.

She was eying you the same way you were eyeing her, you wondered how she felt about you. You had to talk to her about what happened. As distracting as how amazing she looked would be, you needed to try. You had to make sure she knew you cared for her.

(Y/N)'s POV:

As he started walking toward you, hands in his pockets, you got a whiff of his cologne, Acqua Di Gio, your favorite. Everything about him was attractive, how he looked, how he smelled, his voice, his intellect, his personality. You wished so badly he could be yours.

"You look nice." He said with a smile.

"Thank you, nice to finally see you out of your cave."

He laughed, "I'm sorry. I had a lot to catch up on. But I did want to talk to you if you have a second?"

"Yeah, of course."

"I wanted to apologize for the other night. I don't want you to think of me as careless, and I certainly don't want to have made you uncomfortable. I assure you it will not happen again."

You looked at him confused, uncomfortable? You thought. You were anything but uncomfortable. Elated, turned on, lucky, are how you'd describe your feelings, uncomfortable was not one of them. Won't happen again? Thats not what you wanted. You wanted him to kiss you passionately, explore your body, touch you, fuck you.

"I was not uncomfortable, and do not apologize. Thank you for clarifying how you feel." You said sternly.

Before even giving him a chance to respond, you stormed off down the stairs and out the door to your taxi. You were pissed at him, how could he say it won't happen again? Did he not want to kiss you? Was he so utterly repulsed by you that he'd have to clarify it wouldn't happen ever again. You decided on getting completely drunk tonight.

You made it to the bar a little after 10, your friends were standing at the bar ordering shots when you walked in. Emma noticed you and screamed your name in excitement.

"(Y/N)!!" She sprinted over to you, nearly knocking you over when she hugged you.

"Hi! I missed you so much, how are you?!" You were genuinely excited to see her, she's been your best friend since you were were in pre-k. It only made you feel more guilty for not telling her whats going on.

"Ugh, I'm fine, I guess. I went on a date with this kid from Tinder but he was so annoying. I never called him back." Em was always dating, she started in 6th grade with Joey Tanzio and ever since then has dated random guys. Her longest relationship was 2 months, but she was beautiful, so no one ever questioned it. She had long black hair and bright blue eyes, you always envied how striking she was.

The next two hours, you, Em, and the rest of your friend group got drinks and danced, by 12 you were definitely drunk, but not enough to the point you couldn't control yourself. You finally mustered the courage to get a table and tell your friends about whats going on, though you had to basically scream because the music was so loud.

"GUYS I HAVE TO TELL YOU SOMETHING"  You yelled.

They all smiled and leaned in so they could hear what you had to say.

"I MOVED TO BROOKLYN FOR MY NANNYING, I LIVE IN THEIR HOUSE NOW." You admitted.

They all thought it was cool, and were happy you found something you liked doing. They asked what the child was like and the family, and how you liked living there. You didn't tell them who the family was, despite how upset you were at Adam's rejection, you still wanted to spare his privacy. You explained to them that the family was really private and you didn't know much about them but they were nice to you, and you loved their son. You were so pleased by how supportive they were, and that they weren't mad at you for not telling them, though that could just be the alcohol.

You continued to dance and drink until 2am, posting on your social media to show how much fun you were having. You started to think of Adam and what he was doing right now, if he was thinking of you at all. You scrambled away to the bathroom without telling any of your friends and dialed his number.
