Chapter 8

"Mom, Dad, I have something to say." I finally called them that. I feel belonged here now and I want them to know it. They have done so much for me and they needed to be aware of me. In a way. They looked shocked but happy when I said that to them.

"Yes, sweety?" Mom said. I looked at Dad and he just nodded, like he was at a lose for words.

"I want you guys to know that I finally feel welcome here. I really do appreciate everything that you guys have been doing and I know that I don't talk alot. And I'm sure that you guys are shocked at how much I am talking right now but it is what happens when I am okay and finally free. I know you guys know my past and I know you guys want to know the truth but that is one thing I really can't talk about. I understand that you guys do want this to be a family and I am going to try my best to make sure that, that is what happens." I smiiled lightly at them and they smiled back. Mom had tears down her face, and I knew they were happy tears because she was smiling very big and large. Dad looked like he was going to cry but I knew he was too manly for that. I felt good, everything felt like it was fitting into place. I felt belonged. It was going to stay this way. Always and forever. As long as I live, I will belong here in this town with my new family and my Raven. My Raven.

"So you told your parents the speech that took you forever to not stumble on?" Raven said with a smile, trying not to laugh before I did.

"Ha. Ha. Very funny miss." I said. I swung her hand back and forth. Her hand in mine fit perfectly. No gaps, no spaces and nothing that was wrong with this picture. She was where I belong. She was perfect in all ways possible. I smiled at her and she smiled back. Today was going to be perfect. Mom and Dad met and "approved" of her and we were off. We were in a field that I found yesterday on my walk home from school.

"How'd you find this beautfiul place?" She said and she looked around, amazed at how beautfiul the field was.

"Well, first I found you." Pulled her towards me and pulled her into a hug/ hold. We just stood like this, like you would see in a movie. Something perfect. Something that you have wanted forever and finally happened. That's what is going on with me. I was finally getting and filling all the blank spaces in my heart. Raven was fixing me, piece by piece. Slowly but she is doing it. That's why she is where I belong. She let go and smiled. I smiled back at her. Even when she let go, I could still feel her around me. Maybe, that was supposed to happen.

"Well, you are a man of kind and loving words. Aren't you?" she winked at me and laughed. I laughed with her. This was perfect. I started to feel as if I was in a movie where everything turned out perfect in the end with a happily ever after. Things at home were becoming better and more family like. Raven and I were like a perfect couple that are going to get married when we are older. Everything I'd see in a movie, I see now. It's wonderful, the feeling itself is wonderful. We started walking back to my house when my phone started to ring. I looked at the number and it said unknown. I made a weird face and answered it. "Hello?" I aksed uncertain what might come through the other end of the phone.

"Hey, is the Jor?" a guy's voice came through.

"Um, I don't think you have the right number." I said, polietey of course.

"Oh well, sorry." The line went dead and put my phone away. That was weird.

"Everything okay?" Raven looked at up me.

"Just fine." I smiled and pulled her hand up and kissed her hand. She smiled at me and held onto me tighter as we walked. When we reached my house, I kissed her on the cheek and went inside. She liked walking home alone for some stupid, strange reason.

"How'd it go?" Mom asked with a light smile on her face.

"It went well. Laughs, hand holding, hugs, and a kiss on the cheek.Nothing could of gone better." I smiled at her.

"That's good. She really is a nice young lady. You should have her over for dinner next time. Invite her parenst over so they can met us, all of us, together as a family."

Just then Dad walked in. "So, is she preggo?" Dad smirked at me and smirked back. Mom slapped him on the arm but couldn't help but smile with us. This is exactly how I have always pictured having a real family. I belong here, and to be honest I don't want to leave. This is where I want to be. I have finally found the place I can call 'home'. I have always wanted a place to call home and now I have one. I also have a perfect family inside it as well. They are simply perfect. They really are.

"No Dad. Not yet anways."

"Hunny!" Mom yelled as she couldn't help but laugh. We all started laughing as we headed towards the living room. We all sat down and started watching our favorite new show together at nights. "The Ones Who Got Away" it was such an awesome T.V. series. I sat down next to Mom as we all shared the huge popcorn bowl together. This is what I have always wanted, and I know I have it. Maybe, this is what I was meant to do prove that I can beat all of the life's war... but yet again, has the war just now started?
