The sound of leaves crunching broke your thoughts as You sat by the lake. Turning around the famed Harry Potter stood behind you hesitantly .
" what are you doing here so early?" He spoke out as he sat down next to you slowly. Shifting uncomfortably you looked at him confused. " I could ask you the same , Potter." You responded coldly , turning back to watch the sun rise on the lake. Feeling Harry's gaze leave your face you relaxed a little.
" I heard what you said the other day." Potter spoke up after a few minutes of peaceful silence . Raising an eyebrow confused you looked over at him , he gulped quite noticeably before speaking up again. " the snake of course , I heard you . I'm not sure if other students did but I heard it." Harry added on quickly , you brushed it off not thinking he meant he knew what you told the snake. You've known since you were young that you could talk to snakes , at Ilvermorny you use to talk to a horned serpent who lived by the castle.
" I told Dumbledore you told it not to harm her." Potter informed after a few seconds of silence. Your mouth dropped and your eyebrows furred as you looked at the boy next to you. " y-you.." you stuttered hesitantly, subconsciously backing away from him shocked. He solemnly smiled and nodded . After a few seconds you began to laugh to yourself causing Potter to furry his eyebrows observing you.
" I can't believe it , finally someone else who can speak to bloody snakes." You let out in a relieved and happy tone , Harry smiled to himself . You looked at him and suddenly felt a wave of guilt about everything you've said to him with your friends. " I can sense you're worried Harry." You confessed after a few minutes of comfortable silence . Harry let out a small sigh as he continued to watch the sun rise. A breeze blew past as you looked at the boy next to you.
" if it's about the dementors there's a charm that can help you , it's quite hard but I promise when you get the hang of it it'll be easy for you." You informed not realizing fully what you said , the boy next to you raised a brow . Looking over at him you let out a hum.
" it was you wasn't it y/n? On the train that day , you casted the charm." Harry questioned in a tone of realization. " I have no clue what you're talking about Potter." You stated simply as you began to grab your stuff so you could storm off. Harry stood up walking after you quickly as you headed back to the castle , he called out your name and pleaded for you to stop.
" please y/n , show me." He called out , stopping in your place you felt like you owed it to him . Sighing you turned around and walked back towards him , finally reaching him you shoved your books into his chest before stepping back and taking out your wand.
Swirling your wand around your head and saying " expecto patronum " your patronus appeared , Harry stared in awe as your patronus ( whatever it is ) danced around in circles in the air . After a few seconds it went into the forest and was gone. Turning to you Harry was in awe , you put your wand away quickly and grabbed your books from him.
