THE PRICE OF WAR [Taka x Reader]

XII. Moonlight

You came out of your tent and you managed to outwit the guards transforming into a little squirrel. Once outside the campsite, you transformed again and you headed towards the old cherry tree. The moon was shining so bright that it bathed the entire field and there was no light needed to see the way. You recognised a figure leaning towards the cherry tree. Your heart beated faster the more you approached him.

"It's late and dark. A woman like you shouldn't be hanging around all alone" Taka mocked as he hold your hand.

"And why is that?"

"It could be dangerous" he whispered as he looked around.

"But now I'm not alone. I have my soldier protecting me, right?"

Taka smiled at your cute reaction.

"Yes, you do"

He noticed his gem hanging from your neck.

"It looks beautiful on you" he said as he softly caressed it.

"Thank you..." you smiled, thanking that he couldn't notice your red cheeks in the dark.

Suddenly Taka sneakily took out from his pocket a cherry he had picked up before and quickly threw it away without you noticing. You looked away, alarmed by its noise and Taka took the moment to get closer and kiss you on the cheek. You softly smiled, not being able to look at him.

"Come here" he said after some seconds, hiding yourselves under the branches.

"What did you want to talk about?" you innocently asked.

"The truth is... I didn't come here to talk"

His voice now was deep and husky. He stepped closer to you and you gulped.

"Before, inside the tent..." he began "Sorry for being so... Impulsive. I forgot my manners"

You both chuckled. He then stared at you while you looked away in shyness.

"Did you like it? Me being impulsive?" he implied, making your whole body shudder.

"I don't know..."

"You don't know?" he mocked "Well, I actually did..."

He paused his lips on your neck while you exhaled a soft moan.

"I'm sorry..." he whispered while his mouth travelled across your neck and left shoulder "I know this isn't the way to treat a lady... But I've been wanting to do this for so long..."

You tried to speak in vain. It was the first time that you felt your body wasn't yours. It was acting on its own, allowing itself to be controlled by Taka's wishes and obeying his movements. His mouth passed to yours and his hands tried to hold you more and more tightly. The heat increased and you began to sweat. Your body didn't want to stop but your mind alerted you that your power could be released at any time. And you already knew what happened when you couldn't control feelings such as love or anger. Taka was now on your cleavage, holding you tight as you grabbed onto his hair.

"Taka..." you gasped.

He answered with a moan.

"Please... I can't"

He suddenly stopped and stood up.

"What? What's wrong?"

"I'm not sure about this... I'm afraid my body will turn into an animal and I don't want that to happen"

He sighed and stopped grabbing you.

"I'm sorry..." you apologized.

"It's fine..."

He stood back and you covered back your shoulders.

"Were you at least enjoying it?" he asked.

You stared at him and smiled back.

"Yes... Very much"

"Good" he chuckled.

"I hope we can..."

Suddenly, you were interrupted by a far yet loud scream. It came from the campsite.

"What's that? you whispered.

That scream transformed in just a few seconds into dozens of them, mingling with clashes of swords, screams of agony and goblins screeching. You noticed a multitude of torches approaching you.

"It's a siege!" you screamed "We need to help them!"

"No!" Taka stopped you.

"We have to go!"

"We are unarmed, Yumiko!"

"I'll transform myself! I can kill them all!"

"No! It's too dangerous!"

You stared at him for some seconds when an idea crossed your mind. You wriggled out of his arms and prepared yourself to test one of the many spells you had learned during your journey.
