THE PRICE OF WAR [Taka x Reader]

XI. Cherry Tree

"Your mother?" Kyria asked.

"Yes, I know. It doesn't make sense"

"But you never met her before, right?" Yrion asked.

"No, Erymid told me they died when I was just a few days old..." you replied "My family lived in Emmeldris and I was born there, but after my parent's death Erymid moved to Hayltel and took me with her"

"And the crown? You said that woman was wearing a crown"

You shrugged.

"Emmeldris is the capital city, so your head might have associated that to the monarchy..." Yrion thought out loud.

"No, it has to be a metaphor or something" Kyria replied.

"A queen..." you frowned.

You remembered telling Erymid about this and her answer. Dreams always have a meaning. But you all kept thinking about it and couldn't find any possible explanation. Meanwhile, several kilometers from where you all were at that time, a troop of goblins arrived at the place of your last battle where several soldiers claimed to have seen a tiger transforming into a woman. After briefly analyzing the battlefield, they found a trail in the mud that belonged to your footsteps. The leader of the troop examined them and after scanning the horizon for several moments, he smiled and called all his soldiers.

You spent the rest of the day helping the soldiers on their tasks and chatting with them. Yusuke-senzo announced that you all would be heading to Mizumura in a couple of days and so everything had to be packed for then. You had just helped some soldiers carrying a big bag full of oats when you felt someone grabbing your hand and pulling you inside the closest tent.

"I'm sorry"

That's the last thing you heard before feeling Taka's hands on your hair and his lips pressing yours. He was desperate for them.

"Taka, I..."

Before you could reply, he covered your mouth.

"Shhh..." he whispered while his fingers caressed your lips "I'm sorry for not taking care of you all this time" he whispered "I wish we had more time..."

"More time?"

"I just want you to know that I don't know what's going to happen in Mizumura... But I know that I love you and..."

"Taka?"

You both heard Tomoya's voice outside the tent.

"Fuck" Taka cursed.

You smiled at his annoyed reaction.

"Taka, get out!"

"Meet me tonight at the old cherry tree" he whispered to you.

"But..."

"Make sure everybody is asleep" he winked.

He kissed you back and went out the tent.

"Where the fuck are you doing?" you heard Tomoya ask while you were still trying to assimilate everything that had just happened. Your body was shaking and your hands craved for the heat that Taka was making you feel. But all you could do was to cover your face and giggle.
