Date

I pulled back and blushed and looked down. I wasn't exactly expecting that to happen. He gently raised my head and smiled

"You don't have to be so shy Kyla...it's just me"

"I know. I just wasn't expecting that is all I guess. I missed you"

"I missed you too. Did you want to come out with me tonight? Like on a date?"

I nodded and shyly smiled

"Good. So I'll pick you up at Corey's apartment?"

"Yes, but we can't do anything that requires me to be dressy...I can't wear heels"

He smiled and laughed a little "That's not a problem" and leaned in and kissed me again

I excitedly threw my arms around him and hugged him tight. He took my hand and we walked back towards Jon and Colby. Jon smiled and winked at me and I looked down and blushed. He laughed and shook his head. They stood around and talked for a while until Corey came up and took me back to the apartment. I was so excited to be going on this date. We'd never gone on a date before. When we were seeing each other the first time we were always too busy and on the road. I went into the closet and came up with an outfit. I curled my hair and put on some make up and waited. I was so antsy...I just wanted to go. Corey came over and sat next to me on the couch and handed me a bag of ice for my knee. I'd been doing too much on it today and I knew that I'd be paying for it later. I leaned against him and he put his arm around me.

"So I'm sorry for just kind of 'dumping' you on the spot in front of every one earlier. I already knew you were going to want him back...you always have."

I shrugged my shoulders "It's fine. I still love you." I half smiled "Just not the same way as I used to. You've been the best to me. Always been there. I owe you a lot. So I love you but we have always been better friends."

I kissed his cheek and settled in to get more comfortable. He turned on the TV and we started watching a movie together while I iced my knee. I felt like it was taking forever for Joe to show up so we could go out...I was starving. It wasn't long before I dozed off. I felt Corey shift and I stirred and partially woke up

"It's alright go back to sleep."

I woke up with a start and looked around. It was late and I was freaking out thinking I missed out on my date. I looked at my phone and saw the time was 11:30. Oh no!!! I missed my date!!!  I checked but had no missed calls or text messages. Did he not even show up? I looked at the arm around me and realized it wasn't Corey. I turned around and saw Joe sleeping and I smiled. I felt bad about the date. He could've woken me up for it. I carefully sat up and turned. This stupid knee and the brace was making everything awkward and complicated. I leaned over and kissed his cheek and nestled my head on his shoulder and started to doze off again. He woke up and shifted causing me to dart my eyes back open. I looked up at him and smiled. He smiled back and looked at the time

"You should've woken me up. Why'd you let me sleep through our date?"

"You looked so peaceful I didn't want to wake you. Plus when Corey took away the ice pack your knee looked pretty swollen and I didn't want to make you walk around like that. We can go out for breakfast...sound OK?"

I nodded and smiled. I loved having him here. Even if it was just cuddling on the couch.  He sat up which forced me to sit up too. We faced each other and smiled as he reached towards me and played with my hair, pushing it over my shoulder. His hand slid across my shoulder to the nape of my neck and he pulled me forward and kissed me. This would be so much easier if my knee wasn't in the way!!  The kiss became aggressive and desperate as I laid back pulling him on top of me. His hands roamed freely under my shirt as I broke away from the kiss for air

"Wait...we can't. Corey's in the other room.  I sleep on the couch when I stay here...sorry"

"It's fine...to be continued."

I smiled "For sure."
