sunburn
blackout -jaden smithevery day
when it feels right
i watch the sun burn past the tree line
until it falls
and diesand so
do ii ember
and marvel
and cryat the magnificent nothingness
the sound of the world fills my mind
the nature
is alivebut pieces of me
scatter here and there
each day
passing night
passing by
glimpsing sightof the falling sun
burning
into nightlike saturn might
dance around my fingers
in the distant lightthat's only a memory
of what i hidei scrub it all away with the soapy water
but the feeling crawls and aches beneath my skinI rushed today
hoping the sun wouldn't escape
before my eyesi saw
and i realized
i knewall along it's been true
