~a few months later~
It was months later, and the insemination process was successful. Jennie was in fact pregnant. Nobody outside of friends and family knew it, though. Nobody would know until after she gave birth. At least, that was the plan.
It was the middle of the night and everyone was sleeping. Jisoo and Bora, her daughter, had come to visit and Alice was also staying there at the moment. Then of course, there was Rosé and Jennie.
Rosé was fast asleep, but she could feel Jennie tossing and turning beside her. It wasn't anything new. Jennie had always been a rough sleeper. Thus, Rosé didn't think anything of it.
The older girl turned on her other side, wrapping an arm around Jennie, hoping to calm her down. The younger girl immediately threw it off.
Rosé furrowed her eyebrows, waking up. She sat up and looked at Jennie. The girl was still. Everything looked fine, minus the fact that there were tears coming out of her eyes.
Rosé got a little closer to her fiancée, trying to make sure her eyes weren't deceiving her.
"Jen—"
All of a sudden, Jennie gasped. Rosé jumped back as the girl woke up out of her sleep in a panic, having a coughing fit. She began sobbing as she grabbed at her throat.
"Jennie?" Rosé got on top of her, putting her hands on her face. "Are you okay, baby?"
Jennie looked around frantically before her eyes finally landed on Rosé.
"What happened?" her fiancé asked.
The younger girl shook her head. "Nothing," she whispered, pulling Rosé into a hug.
Rosé let out a sigh, wrapping her arms around the younger girl. "I can't help you if you don't tell me, Jennie," she said softly.
Jennie nodded. "I know," she said, "and I'll get there."
"Sooner than later, I hope," Rosé said. "Go back to sleep. I'm right here."
Jennie shut her eyes as Rosé gave her a kiss on the cheek. The two slept peacefully through the rest of the night, and woke up to Jisoo yelling at them.
"Jennie! Roseanne! Wake up!" she yelled. "You have a long day today!"
The two groaned, turning towards each other. Rosé smiled, grabbing Jennie's hand and pulling it from under the cover. She looked at the ring on her finger, then back up at Jennie and smiled.
"Every morning," Jennie chuckled.
"It looks so good on you," Rosé said. "I can't help it."
Jennie smiled, getting out of bed. "It's been months since we got engaged, and you're still saying that."
Rosé shrugged. "It's the truth."
Jennie playfully rolled her eyes as she went into the bathroom. Rosé, who had taken a shower the night before, got up and got dressed. She went downstairs to see Alice in the living room with Bora.
"Good morning, Roseanne," Alice said, not taking her attention from Jisoo's daughter. "Daddy would like for you and Jennie to come by today."
Rosé rolled her eyes, walking into the kitchen. "Tell Father I said no."
"He wants to apologize—"
"Fuck him," Rosé cut her sister off.
"You can't stay mad at him forever!" Alice yelled.
"Watch me!"
Jisoo turned around, sitting a cup of coffee on the table. "Would you like to know your schedule for today?"
Rosé chuckled, sitting down. "Get out of that idol mindset. I don't like that."
"Sorry," Jisoo smiled as she sat down. "It's a habit."
"I see."
"Today you and Jennie have an appointment to find out the gender of the baby. Alice will be going with you because you guys are having a gender reveal," Jisoo smiled.
"When did I agree to this?" Rosé asked.
"You didn't," Jennie walked into the kitchen.
"Excuse me?" the older girl looked at her fiancée.
"I'm the one carrying this child," Jennie said. "I told Jisoo I wanted a gender reveal party."
"But I don't want to..."
Jennie raised her eyebrow. "What is your problem?"
Jisoo rolled her eyes, standing up. This was Rosé's fault, and she wasn't planning on getting her out of it.
"I don't mean it like that—"
"Then how do you mean it?"
"If you would let me finish, I would tell you," Rosé gave the girl a bitchy smile.
"Oh, go ahead," Jennie crossed her arms over her chest.
"Inviting all of our idol friends would bring news outlets to Australia," Rosé said. "They would suspect the reason they're coming down here has something to with us, thus bringing them to our house. I thought we agreed that we don't want anyone to know what's going on with us until the time being?"
Jennie looked at Jisoo who immediately looked away.
"Let her have it, Roseanne," Alice walked into the kitchen.
"My daughter?" Jisoo asked.
"Asleep."
"No," Rosé said, sternly.
"No?" Jennie asked.
"No," the older girl repeated. "I barely even want the child. What made you think I would want a gender reveal?"
"Uncalled for," Alice glared at her sister.
Jennie looked her fiancé up and down in disgust. "Fuck you," she said, walking off.
Jisoo crossed her arms over her chest, looking at Rosé. "You're a piece of shit, you know that?" she headed towards the living room. "We're not in high school anymore, Rosé. Get out of that bitch mindset."
Rosé rolled her eyes as Jisoo went to go comfort Jennie. She looked at Alice. "I don't—"
"Don't talk to me," Alice rolled her eyes, also moving to leave the kitchen. "You exude bitch behavior."
