It was a few weeks later and things had not been getting any better. Jennie was becoming more distant. She went on a brief break from her promotions, but after a week she had started back. She and Jackson were still 'dating,' they were even posting each other on their social media's.

Just today Rosé had gotten a notification that Jennie posted on her story. It was a video of Jennie being smiley and happy, then Jackson came and kissed her, making her smile even wider. Rosé knew it was all an act, but damn. Something about it just seemed so...real.

To make it worse, Jennie was responding to Rosé's texts less often. The lest text that was sent between them came from Rosé, and it said 'call me when you get the chance.' She knew Jennie had seen the text because she's always on her phone, and she hates having text notifications.

Was she scared of what Rosé would say to her? Was she cheating? Was she genuinely busy?

Rosé didn't know. Simply because she never got a call or a text back.

She didn't want to worry, so she did the one thing that could always calm her down. She went to her favorite coffee shop. She went alone because she knew her friends would bring up Jennie, and she was not in the mood to talk about her girlfriend right now.

Rosé ordered her coffee and a pastry, then went to go find a seat. She got out her phone and decided to try contacting Jennie again.

rosie💞: j, can you please call/text me back? say anything. tell me how you're doing. i miss you.

Rosé our her phone face down and ran her hands through her hair. She knew she wasn't going to get a response, but at least she tried. She always tried.

The girl waited a few minutes for her order, and when she got it, she still had no response from Jennie.

She shook her head, walking back to her car with her phone in her hand. One more time. She would try one more time, then she would leave her alone.

rosie💞: please?? i feel like i'm getting the silent treatment for some unknown reason and it hurts.

Rosé put her phone down and turned on the radio. She needed some type of noise to drown out her thinking. It worked for a while until her phone dinged.

j💘: i'm okay, baby. we're okay.

rosie💞: that's hard to believe, considering how distant you've been.

j💘: i haven't been distant, i've been busy

rosie💞: you've always made time to let me know if you're okay before. what's so different now that we got caught?

j💘: you're making a big deal out of nothing. i've been busy. i've been doing stages, i've been working on my next comeback, i've been having meetings about a possible tour.

rosie💞: you've been hanging out with jackson.

j💘: are you serious?

rosie💞: i don't like how close you've been getting with him.

j💘: you're joking

rosie💞: i don't joke.

rosie💞: are you cheating on me?

j💘: you've got to be kidding me. why would i do that?

rosie💞: i saw your instagram story. i know that look, j.

j💘: what "look," roseanne? youre being delusional.

rosie💞: im not being delusional, i'm telling you how i feel. just be honest with me, jennie. do you have feelings for him?

j💘: i'm not answering that.

rosie💞: you're just giving into my suspicions

j💘: i have to go, roseanne.

rosie💞: i bet you do. text me when you're ready to talk.

j💘: i'm not texting you again.

rosie💞: that's fine with me.

Rosé made the rest her drive home with tears in her eyes. She pulled into her garage and went into the house. She completely ignored her sister on the couch, asking her what was wrong.

She went up to her room, slamming the door shut. The brunette looked at she and Jennie's texts, just getting more and more angry.

"Rosé?" Alice said quietly, walking into her sister's room.

"I hate her," the younger girl turned around, looking at the ground, not wanting her sister to see the tears streaming down her face.

"No, you don't," Alice shook her head.

"Yes, I do," Rosé said. "I hate her, and I hate her company, and I hate Jackson."

"You don't even know hi—"

"I bought her a ring."

Alice stared at her sister, her eyes wide. "You what?"

"I bought her a ring. I bought her an engagement ring," Rosé looked up at her sister. Alice could see the pain her eyes. "And I think we may have just broken up."
